T-Mobile Dropping Service all the sudden

Post by gscheb »

Hello,
Using a T-Mobile unlimited hot spot plan directly from T-Mobile using it in a Mofi 4500.
Been doing this for months with no issues. Now the last couple of weeks if my son is downloading a large down load like a online game it will drop service. If I just reboot it will get service again. Don't know where the issue is. Starting to wander if it is a T-Mobile thing. Is anyone else out there having this issue?

Gonna need more info than this to troubleshoot.

Can you post the output of "at!gstatus" when this happens?

Can you ping the mofi from an internal machine when this happens?

Can you ping 8.8.8.8 (Google's DNS serverS) when this happens?

Hello,

Not sure I can do this since it is a mofi device?
My signal strengths and such haven't changed on it I don't believe.
This just started happening all of the sudden.
We did have a strong wind storm few weeks ago.
But the antennas don't seem like they moved from the ground.

Can you ping the mofi from an internal machine when this happens?
Can you ping 8.8.8.8 (Google's DNS serverS) when this happens?

Honestly don't know what you are asking me on these.

When Say that it drops service, it doesn't have internet service anymore.
Can still connect to the router just with out internet access.
Will just turn it off and back on and it will find the internet service once again.
Run just fine after that as well until he starts a long download on it again.

Hello again,
Now discovered this issue is due the Mofi Software. First hooked up a non mofi we826-t2 with mc7455 modem installed with golden orb for one week and no issues. Then hooked up the mofi again then immediately when trying to download a game kicked me off the internet. So then I took the the mofi and loaded the golden orb onto it and then no issues again. So seems it is something to do with the Mofi software. Anyone ever hear of something like this before? The mofi is only about 6 months old bought brand new.
I did do a AT!GSTATUS? with golden orb and all the stats looked fine with it as well.
Thanks for any info

I have not heard of that with the Mofi software, but GoldenOrb is far superior to the Mofi OS, that's for sure.
