MR6500 Firmware Rollback

Post by PJ Smith »

Hi, I just bought a new MR6500 to replace my old one and it was unfortunately updated 12.01.16.01 from 2023/06/24. As a result I am unable to use OPENMEP at command so I cannot proceed to SIM Unlock my device. Does anyone have an idea of how I can rollback this device to the previous firmware, I cannot find firmware online since ATT likely has a contract with Netgear for this device. My end goal is to run TMobile on the device. I am aware there was a previous thread regarding this matter but it was for another firmware. Thank you!

If you select "-d SDX55" in sierrakeygen for !OPENMEP, it will OK

On MR6450, the AT command !OPENMEP was returned on firmware newer than 12.01.41

It works on yours because 6450 is a non-branded device, it will not work on the 6500 that the op asked about.

its interesting your 6450 is still also using the old algorithm on newer firmware, the other devices/firmwares in this class (MR) use the new algo.
