OK--complet noob here!!
I have my WE826-T2 7455 modem-up and running on a Verizon prepaid unlimited plan. I Have the modem set to auto---I can see that 99% of the time it is on (B4)--but one time I saw it on (B13).
At this time I just have the small antennas that came with the unit-I have the older adjustable (weboost) type booster, with a yagi directional antenna pointed at the tower that is (8) miles away as the crow flies--then from the yagi that is on the side of my house, about 8' off ground, looking at the cell tower--with NO obstructions--it is about 40' from the yagi to my office--and it is run in RG6
I might add that i'm in SW New Mexico--and we are pretty isolated, and this is the only tower--it also has Tmobile on it.
With the weboost on, and a flat panel antenna in office, I can get 65 mPS in AM--dropping to the 40 mps with afternoon traffic About 40 mps without the booster.
So I have not done any (at) commands yet--scarred-lol--but should I set modem to ?? 4g only??--any tips appreciated--will be looking for some antenna advice in proper forum--but feel free to give me some advice--as I could really use the help!
I have been running for some yrs. with a Cradlepoint MBR95, with Pantech 295, with speeds around 40 mps, and tethering my tablet, with speed approaching 60 mps.
I just learned of this type of testing,--so feel free to help a ol guy out.

Can you clarify a few things? Are you using the weboost to boost the signal to your small antennas? I'm not sure what you are looking to improve? It sounds like your speeds are pretty good?

Re: WE826-T2 7455 modem--modem settings??
Thank You for the reply--
At this time I'm using the weboost as it seems to improve speed.?????
I had been using the mbr95 for years, with pretty good success, but had read some of the hype of the (power) of the embedded sim card platform.
So this is my first attempt at it. Until I can improve my outside antenna situation, (as I try and learn what is required) I thought I would ask about the (modem) settings--to improve things/speed--such as LTE only, instead of auto--any tips would be great.
As I said 99% of the time I have seen B4, but just 1 time B13--any tips
Thanks, Rocky

I'm surprised the weboost isn't causing issues with your modem. Usually it does, from what I've seen. Have you tried it without it?RockyinNM wrote: Mon Apr 01, 2019 12:43 pm Thank You for the reply--

Honestly, if things are working in an acceptable manner, I wouldn't fiddle with it. It's normal for LTE to switch between bands and primary/secondary bands sometimes depending on the RF environment, load, etc.

Now--more research--reading, reading--eyes they are a bleeding!!
I will be trying to discern what type of antennas I should use---MORE suggestions please??

Re: WE826-T2 7455 modem--modem settings??
I have been reading a bunch of your antenna research--it is quite a journey, to say the least!
These are the units that came with the (router/modem)
copy/paste--
2X 50W 38dBi 50ohm 700-2700MHz SMA Glue Rod Omni Antenna Support LTE 3G 4G GSM--
I, like most men want faster--mor--
As I stated earlier, we live in SW New Mexico--we have LOS, to the tower witch is 8 miles as crow flies, (google distance calculator) at this point--I'm very new to this router, and have NOT done any (AT commands) yet--as I only have had a week--and scared to break it--lol
That said, I do have metal roof,--we are on small hill, (5600'el) tower on big hill (7000'el)--so about 1000' higher than me.--NOT, a twig, between me and the tower!
I see that I'm on B4-Verizon--In the AM I can get speeds of 60+mps--I also have pings in the 88-91 range.
I use to be a fairly quick study-but being in my mid 70's (wa, wa)--it takes a bit more to mesh!!
So I do appreciate the tips, and have been reading ALL the antenna threads.
I will be doing a(site) survey to see the distance I can mount my antennas, to the router. I like to keep it in the office , so I can test other sim cards, I have not tested my tablet sim yet to see if it masks the difference from just 4g unlimited, or can detect (hotspot-limited to (15 gigs) if that was to work, I could go to a tablet plan--lot cheaper, we shall see.
I understand I think, that 20" would be the limit??--I think I might be 30'--what would be limit length, with the (best) cable?
and again thans for sharing your testing results, Rocky
