826-T MC7455 Sprint Painfully Slow

Post by stlsvt »

I have posted on the FB page about my issue but figured some of you might not see it there. I just put this together a few days ago using 826-T with Sierra MC7455 and flashed openwrt-we826-GO2018-09-02-upgrade.bin and set the APM to n.ispsn. I have a Sprint sim removed from a working Iphone on my personal unlimited Sprint family plan, I removed the sim and installed it into this new router, I followed the tutorial to the letter and it works. Trouble is it is extremely slow compared to another Sprint phone in side by side testing the phone will see 25-30M down with around 5-6 up and ping is usually around 100. The router will not even break 1M down and usually times out before anything can finish. I have had a few try and help from FB and believe me it is very much appreciated. I am not sure if this is the best that I can expect or if there is something off with my setup?

Signal stats look good.

Can you try a wired ethernet connection to the router, to see if it is any faster? I'm wondering if you have interference or something on the wifi side.

Some of the thoughts are that it is in some sort of tether mode or maybe it has something to do with IPV6? I found a command to enable IPV6 and tried to run it and it only gave an error each time I tried it.

I'm not really sure to be honest, sprint LTE issues are always very odd to me.

You could try a speed test from openwrt as well, just to rule out anything else.

I had the same problem with a TMO sim card. What fixed it was

NETWORK > FIREWALL > CUSTOM TTL SETTINGS and ENABLE for Value 65. SAVE & APPLY

Not sure if Sprint needs this but it's worth a shot
