USB tethering Netgear R7000

I am not sure if there is a way to do this. I have been trying to follow the instructions on flashing the R7000 with no luck so far. I want to USB tether it to an ATT phone. Before I go any further I would need to somehow connect it to an Amplifi mesh network in order to cover the house with good signal. Would this even work? the amplifi has ethernet and usb ports?

Sorry for all of the questions most of this is above me. Reason for doing is I was shut down on ATT $35 ipad plan and have been using a reseller that has not been terribly great. I was thinking I could get my own plan and save on the monthly bill.
