Re: I was able to access OPENLOCK and OPENMEP on MR6500 on 12.xx firmware.
The firmware flashes the software part of the UI/Linux OS, possibly some parts of the modem, but nothing related to enabling disabled bands on the 6500 and other models with only select bands enabled.
I have not attempted to enable any bands as my primary goal was to be able to unlock the ...

Re: SIM Unlocked MR6500 with latest FW - Ability to turn on OPENMEP?
You can flash the newest 6550 FW onto the 6550 and it's still wide open.
Similar question as to your "wide open": does 6550 FW flash onto 6550 (plus auto update to latest 6550 FW flash) have OPENLOCK, OPENCND, and (most importantly) OPENMEP functionality on your latest FW 6550 ...

Re: SIM Unlocked MR6500 with latest FW - Ability to turn on OPENMEP?
That's pretty neat, I pretty much discovered this accidentally and I was shocked after I gave up for a month and then tried to unlock again and it just worked.. Apparently the firmware I flashed before giving up reopened everything and I was just dumb. Root telnet port 23 also works apparently ...

Re: All firmware for Netgear devices can be found here
So once you've loaded 6550 firmware onto any other M6 model, it will continue to update to 6550 FWs. My 6150, which has 6550 .20 loaded on it, auto updated to 6550 .47, which is the highest any of the M6s will auto update to, you can, however, manually update to the .51 leaked FW and everything is ...

Re: SIM Unlocked MR6500 with latest FW - Ability to turn on OPENMEP?
I originally didn't want to say anything but I somehow got my Nighthawk M6 Pro MR6500 to run the MR6550 firmware and all the AT commands that don't work on the MR6500 latest update seme to work in there.
My nighthawk previously wouldn't work with OPENMEP after an update.

I got a 6550 with FW 12.01.13.00 2023/04/03, older than anything leaked. It's moddable.

Re: MR6550 IMEI and telnet access
Hello I'm new here. I recently switched to t-mobile and now I have 2 extra unlimited data sim cards because of the plan I got. So I got the bright idea to put one in a hotspot, so I bought a netgear m6 pro mr6550-pas. After the fact I learned I either need a hotspot data sim OR from what I've read ...

Just install the 6550 fw on every M6 device. It works on 6400 and 6150 without an issue. Touchscreen lag and bugs also appear to be fixed on both models.

Re: Orbi 5G (NBR750, NBK752) How-To / Megathread
Hello, what are the advantages of using this modem vs a 5g cell phone connected to a Glinet running Luci and applying the right TTL rules? My LBR20 is retired because I now have 5g bands and I can say the same for the 5g mimo antenna. So, beside being able to chose the towers to which to ...

Re: Orbi 5G (NBR750, NBK752) How-To / Megathread
FYI, some Ebay seller has 700+ of these brand-new for $190 on eBay right now. I just received mine today and it's brand new, shipped in a brown Netgear logo box with logo tape that's never been open. I suspect these are covid work from over overstock, and now they're at a great price!
Hope it helps ...
