Re: CBA850 with external router
Not sure exactly what you're having trouble with, maybe need more detail? About the only problem I could really think of is if your CP and Asus have the same IP. But essentially whether you have the CP set to DHCP or IP Passthrough you should be able to plug it into the WAN port of your Asus and ...

Re: Help with adding EM7565 for CBA850LP6-NA CAT6
I'm very curious as to how this works out. I have a CBA850LP6 now that I am using and was interested in an upgraded modem -- CP wants $600 for theirs (which is a Cat18 I believe). Maybe more importantly, theirs also requires the newer than 7.50(?) recommended, "subscription required" firmware to ...

Re: MOFI IMEI blacked by T-mobile
Usually you can have a sim card activated in a regular phone, then once you made a test call, insert it into the router. Sometimes they catch onto it, sometimes they don't. Just don't activate it with the router's IMEI or with the sim card inside the router at first. Also don't let your monthly ...

Re: MOFI IMEI blacked by T-mobile
Just adding - I have a Mofi that is blacklisted by Verizon. I had 4GAntennaShop service for a little while with both Verizon and then AT&T service. I remember before I left I tried to switch back to Verizon and they told me they weren't selling Verizon service anymore. Low and behold, years later I ...

Re: Router and Modem Firmware Upgrades
Thanks. Agreed - I read through the release notes and don't see anything earth shattering - just thinking there must have been some reason. But everything seems to be working great, so unless I see a reason to change, I'm going to leave it. Or, maybe upgrade the modems to the CAT18 they offer. Hmmm ...

Router and Modem Firmware Upgrades
Hello- I recently started using a CBA-850 and so far I am really impressed and like the equipment.
First question, I am on the recommended router firmware of 7.0.50 is there a reason not to go to .70 (last version before NetCloud requirement)? I am plenty happy to stick with the recommendation but ...

Carrier Aggregation and Signal Questions
Hello- I am currently using a WE826/7455 modem and have only one tower (AT&T) within range. It has bands 2/12. That is all I have ever been able to connect to and using the mapping sites confirms it (as long as they are accurate). I definitely don't have the greatest signal, but that brings me to a ...

Re: Looking for the best setup for my rural area
Keep in mind, that a booster will usually boost your signal by about 10db, whether you have a good incoming signal or just noise. So its effectiveness depends largely on the the received signal to noise ratio. In other words if your received signal is above -120db, then your -110db boosted signal ...

Re: Looking for the best setup for my rural area
Definitely outside, I'm out in the woods and don't have a strong enough signal to put the antennas inside. I'm currently using a Mofi4500 on AT&T. There really wasn't anything to setup, the booster just plugs in-line between the antenna and modem. I have it installed on the primary antenna input ...

Re: Looking for the best setup for my rural area
I use a Wilson in-line booster and see my RSRP improve by about 10dBm. Not sure about mimo and you would need a booster for each antenna. I have seen carrier aggregation active on mine with only 1 antenna connected.

Re: Advantage to reflash Mofi firmware?
Thanks for the reply. I have all 4 slots filled on mine and each time I took it out I flashed each one. Twice if I remember right. Didn't have any effect that I could tell, I still got stuck and had to do it again when I tried the reset.

Re: Lights not working on Mofi conversion
Thank you- yes! I read that thread and I was able to get the WAN light to work, but my power, status, and internet lights have never worked with this firmware, thought they do work with the Mofi firmware.
I think it's definitely a firmware issue.

Re: Lights not working on Mofi conversion
Everything I have read says that the MOFI and the 826 are identical, so it shouldn't be a hardware issue. But now that you know the settings are the same, try playing around with the led settings and see what happens.
Notice in the default list there is no setting for a "power" light, for ...

Re: Lights not working on Mofi conversion
Thanks! Unfortunately I checked and my settings are identical. I did try a different GoldenOrb version while troubleshooting another issue with no change, so I'm thinking maybe it is a hardware difference? My lights worked with the Mofi firmware right before flashing.
Any thoughts?

Lights not working on Mofi conversion
Searched and found a similar post, but not quite the same. I have converted a Mofi to WiFiX and the lights are not all behaving. On the Mofi firmware, all of the lights functioned. Unsure if there is a difference in hardware but could use some help.

Re: Advantage to reflash Mofi firmware?
I don't have an adapter but I had a feeling that was the route I was going to have to take.
SIM is active and was working up until this adventure.
Do you have a tutorial for the USB adapter and software to upload the firmware?
Thanks again.

Re: Advantage to reflash Mofi firmware?
Thanks for your help so far. I've been poking around for hours and I think the problem is related to a firmware mismatch. But I can't seem to get it to switch to a different firmware. Re: Advantage to reflash Mofi firmware?
Better news! One of the recovery attempts worked to allow me to load software! Not sure what was different except I held the reset button for a LONG time. I reloaded WiFiX the 11-19-2019 version rather than Mofi as I think it allows for more access to what I need to continue to fix this.

Re: Advantage to reflash Mofi firmware?
Well would you need to slightly modify the steps on the recovery mode since the steps are for golden or and not mofi? Since the two have different ip addresses.
Mofi actually instructs to do nearly the identical steps for recovery. Exceptions are that they want you to set IP to 192.168.1.7 (not ...

Advantage to reflash Mofi firmware?
Hello,
I have a Mofi4500 on AT&T and am not satisfied with the speeds. A lot of it is due to signal strength, which is difficult to correct in this situation. However, I do see some funny things- like I normally connect to band 12/17 and band 2 for CA, when doing a signal scan I get a MUCH better ...
