Re: ECM and X86 - Multiple Routers, Load Balanced Proxmox
Let's face it, OpenMPTCPRouter is probably not for the average user. Sure it works, but the setup is pretty difficult along with a remote server and monthly fees on top of the mobile carrier(s). Nowadays using a high end 5G modem or phone as a modem gives plenty of speed and bandwidth.
Meh.

Re: ECM and X86 - Multiple Routers, Load Balanced Proxmox
If you like playing and are looking for another solution you might look into an OMR (OpenMPTCPRouter) setup rather than load balancing? That should increase your overall upload/download performance. It does have its downsides but worth it if you like playing around IMO.

It turns out T-Mobile is no longer handing out ipv4 addresses and they're forcibly forcing modems to connect using a IPv4 in IPv6 sometimes called 6in4xlat when connecting to 5G and there's a wired bug in golden orb or the modem with 6in4xlat when using QMI.

DoD?? WTF..
I didn't figure any firmware versions would change ICMP behavior. As far as 5G failing, have you specified any ipv4/ipv6 info in your connection settings? Mine will fail with any settings other than default (ipv4/ipv6). If I try to set to ipv4 only or ipv6 only it will fail.

Re: Simple Mobile sim kit and old iphone TFW Verizon not T-Mobile
SimpleMobile was just one of Tracfone's various front names until this year they were purchased by Verizon. Earlier this year there was a huge push by Vzw to "upgrade" devices and sims and sent Vzw branded sims and secretly swapped customers to vzw towers. Had SimpleMobile for a few years until all ...

Re: Tmobile all bands slow upload, but super fast download
That is extremely surprising. Usually when you are in the "near field" of the transmitter your antennas don't come into play. Not even line of site matters much when your that close. The only thing I can think of is that maybe you were exactly at the edge of the towers transmitting antenna's ...

Yes I loved my mine too. Just settin in a box along with a couple EM7565's. I guess I need to eventually try to get rid of a few things while they're still worth something. Upgraded to 5G so probably won't use them again anyway..

In reference to pings, I would bet that has something to do with your particular ISP or poor signal as I've not had any issues with ping times on either of mine. I did run into some of the kernel crash issues but don't think it was on both. Will have to check into that issue a bit further. In ...

Yes kernel signature checking is one of the things I forgot to mention when building. Since I used ubuntu all I ended up using was the following which allowed me to continue using signature checking rather than removing it:

Verizon bought Simple Mobile. Worst experiences with carrier service since then. They pushed updating your equipment to '4G capable' (whether its already 4G capable or not) and tried to make you upgrade your device. All 3 of my lines were newer samsung phones (2 were 5G capable) and they still ...

Re: Getting throttled using T-Mobile sim and Calyx using different Modem
It sure does seem something recent has changed. I was on a couple different Tmo mvno's until recently and switch to legit Tmo plan. Running an RM500Q-AE, RM502Q-AE and T99W175. Both Quectels seem throttled now. The 502Q won't even connect to 5G anymore, it freezes the modem and it all goes downhill ...

Re: How to configure Quectel RM502Q-AE 5G Modem
Did some more investigating today. It does seem that carriers are moving to 5G SA more than I had thought. 6 months ago it was virtually non-existent as far as I was aware, however, I put my Tmo sim into my note 20 today and it was showing connection to 5G SA n71 only. This is new to me and does ...

where are you getting "NA"? There are 2 modes of operation as I explained a few times here in this thread. The modes are SA (Stand Alone 5G) and NSA (non-standalone 5G) which NSA means that it uses 4G as the core backbone for control. I know of no carrier that uses SA mode in the USA. They all use ...

It does. I have one. Did you switch back back to NSA mode as mentioned? It won't work in SA mode for most carriers. The 4G network is still used for the core network and control.

Re: How to configure Quectel RM502Q-AE 5G Modem
Glad you got things going. As for 5G, there are 2 modes that carriers use. SA and NSA mode. SA mode is 5G only and is not typically used (yet). NSA mode uses both 4G and 5G signals and is the mode typically used. 4G signals are used for 'control' and 5G only kicks in on larger data transfers. When ...
