Re: Upgrading my current setup with Raspberry Pi

The raspberry pi is a cool project to play with. I personally would only build a router out of it if you are a linux fan and love playing with the pi.

If you are wanting to simply keep on a budget. I would go with a NEXQ6GO from thewirelesshaven.com. The EP06A drops right in.
For the EP06A and the ...

Re: Upgrading my current setup with Raspberry Pi

Good call to mirror your antennas. I always recommend matched pairs, and always 2 where 2 can be afforded and used. 4 if you get all fancy with a high end modem.

Re: Upgrading my current setup with Raspberry Pi

Thanks for the responses. Now that i think about it, i really don't have the luxury to tinker around a bunch to get the RPi setup going since my girlfriend works from home. It just needs to work.

That said, i'm thinking about going with the WE1326 and remove my Netgear R7000 from the mix. Would ...

Re: Upgrading my current setup with Raspberry Pi

I wouldn't underestimate what the pi is capable of, especially the pi4. The pi4 has gigabit lan and usb 3.0 and there is firmware for all versions of the pi floating around. It was even powerful enough to run OMR which I had used to bond 4 separate providers and use as my main home router. Only ...

Sierra Wireless EM7565 in QDLoader -- Restoring the Modem COM Port

This tutorial will demonstrate a fairly easy way to restore the Sierra Wireless modem COM port using a Windows machine.

This process is used ONLY when a modem is stuck in QDLoader Mode. This work around will not work when one has lost their modem port by using the wrong AT Commands to change its ...

DMZ - Alternative to Bridging a Router

OpenWRT/LEDE does not have a true bridge mode. The closest configuration to bridging is to DMZ (De-Militarized Zone) all traffic from the gateway router (WE826) to a secondary router/device (MAIN ROUTER) which will handle the DHCP and Firewall.

I have used a couple of different configurations to ...

Re: WG1608 Setup help

Any ideas why all my smart devices, ie tp-link light switches and honey well themorstat will not work after swapping out the we826 with the wg1608? I have an edge router 12 and a tplink ap for my network.

I can put the we826 with wifix back in place of the wg1608 and everything works great. Is ...

Re: MC7455 / EM7565 vs. Quectel EP06 IMEI Change

It's possible now thanks to bkerler https://github.com/bkerler/SierraWirelessGen to unlock Engineer Mode and issue the enhanced commands meant for testing purposes. Do some more digging and I believe you will find the answer. Sierra has pretty good modems unless you are on Sprint then I advise you ...

Re: Info on InvisaGig from TheWirelessHaven?

This is where I'm going to drop this-? Hello ALL,
Just wanted to share, and give a big shout out to Richard at the WH.
I have been testing, (playing) with LTE since 2019-means nothing, cause I started late in life LOL
I had Richard build me a IG in an enclosure, that replaced an 3526P, with a em160 ...

Re: 5G M.2 TO RJ45-KIT with RM520N - how to send AT commands?

The good news is the Mcuzone 5G to RJ45 board worked out of the box, modem shows up on my Mac immediately. It's a dead board from China but at least now I have a functioning board to create a video as requested to get a refund or replacement with.

Re: FYI the external M.2 to USB modem adapter needs the lid off due to internal interference

So, i created a 3D printer .STL file to replicate the lid for the modem enclosure. I added a spot on the top for me to mount a 40mm fan as well to cool the modem. Here is the .STL file if anyone wants to make use of this. Will test the SINR later with and without the faraday tape as well, but ive ...

Re: FYI the external M.2 to USB modem adapter needs the lid off due to internal interference

SINR testing results:

Metal lid on, no faraday tape on ant cables: SINR -4 to -12 dB
Metal lid off, no faraday tape on ant cables: SINR 2 to 4 dB
Plastic lid on, no faraday tape on ant cables: SINR 2 to 4 dB
Plastic lid on, with faraday tape on ant cables: SINR 4 to 8 dB

Also modem temps ...

2x2 Panel Blaster Insane Results

Man I've been on a journey finding the right antenna solution. I researched everywhere, asked tons of questions, and inevitably was directed to Wireless Haven. I was really having a hard time deciding between the 4x4 MIMO Signal Brick omni-directional, and the 2x2 MIMO Panel Blaster. I think we're ...
