Deregistered status

Recently I bought a wg3526 from The Wireless Haven and after transferring my sim from the we826 to the wg3526 I'm getting a deregistered status. I've contacted my data reseller and they've said that verizon checked the account and everything's fine.
The thing is it's not.

I'm receiving signal status from the modem

Code: Select all

RSRQ (dB): -9.9 Cell ID: 027ec103 (41861379)
SINR (dB): 19.6

I'm using the latest firmware on a 7565. I flashed from generic to verizon earlier hoping it would fix my issue. I made sure to be careful with the mounting of the modem, no screws are touching anywhere, and I've double checked everything from hardware to software.

Is my data reseller just being lazy? Should I've not swapped the sim?

Based on your modem report, it doesn't look like it's a hardware issue, after all you're communicating with the modem just fine. The signal strength looks good (PCC RxM RSSI: -63 / PCC RxM RSRP: -89), but the packet service is not attached (PS state: Not attached ), which is usually caused by either an incorrect APN or a non-provisioned SIM card.

I would first insert the sim card into a Verizon phone and make a test call and go online in the browser.
Once that checks out, then simply insert it into the new router, make sure to set up the correct time and time zone, then double check the APN to be "VZWINTERNET" (without the quotes, as long as your service is real Verizon, reseller APN's sometimes different). After saving the settings, make sure to disconnect then reconnect the power to the router.
If still not working, then I would do a full factory reset on the router, or even do a full flash via the bootloader method as posted here. > https://wirelessjoint.com/viewtopic.php?p=6007#p6007

I think the account is data only I've tried once before to use call and sms data from the old router and it didn't work. If I swap the sim into my current phone which is a verizon, will it prevent me from using the old sim once I swap it back? I'm currently paying off the phone so I don't own it yet.

I just flashed via bootloader method and it's still not connecting. I used VZWINTERNET with my old we826 router and it worked just fine.

Just an update, I switched back to my we826 and I'm still getting a deregistered status. Waiting to hear back from you before I try and activate the sim card with my phone.

The key to solving your no service issue, is to test the sim card in a phone, without wasting a bunch of time with the router.
Even if it's a data only sim, you should be able to browse the web on the phone.
If you can't even do that, then you're having a service related issue, which is something you will need to solve on your own.
Check with your service provider if the APN in in fact VZWINTERNET, which normally is only used by Verizon. If your service provider is a reseller, it's likely they are using a different APN, so check with them.
There have been reports about Verizon blocking certain devices, but again just make sure it works in a phone first.
As a last resort, go to a local Verizon store and buy a new sim, call your service provider to do a sim card change.

I made a long post detailing how I had the same issue happen to me but it was removed. I'm guessing because I mentioned I got shipped 2 we826 with bad SMA cables on the inside of the box. So just to shorten it up an all. Check your cables that go to your modem to the connectors on the router. I had same issue, showed I had signal but would not connect. After months of trying to figure it out I ordered 2 replacement cables. Popped them on an connected no issue. Prior to that I changed sim cards, ordered another router and many many more things. Anyways just wanted to readd this so that it might help you or someone else.

Nope. We do not remove posts unless they are inappropriate or violate the rules of the forum.

If you will notice the topic above each forum, entitled FORUM ISSUES, the forum went down and we lost some of the latest posts that were not contained in our backup.

Also, if the cables were bad, you would normally not be receiving these type of signals:

Code: Select all

PCC RxM RSSI: -63 PCC RxM RSRP: -89
PCC RxD RSSI: -64 PCC RxD RSRP: -91
