I'm having trouble figuring out why I can't get internet. I followed the tutorials and also did the troubleshooting page. I know the sim is good because I put it into a mofi 4500 set to "broadband" for at&t and got internet right away.

On the troubleshooting page:

CHECK THE CORRECT APN HAS BEEN ENTERED: it is correct,

CHECK TO ASSURE THE ROUTER IS DETECTING THE MC7455: comes back as attempted to connect to Sierra Wireless, but no where does it read it actually connected.

CHECKING THE SIM CARD CONNECTION: came back as ready,

CHECKING THE SIGNAL STRENGTH: results were

Code: Select all

SINR (dB): 0
OK
RESETTING THE MC7455 TO OEM STATUS: did this with no change with putting MBIM for AT&t with no change.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What version of GoldenOrb are you using?

I first did everything with lede-we826-GO2017-12-15 and after going through everything with that to no avail I installed we826-GO2018-8-17 and redid everything and still could not get internet.

It is not registering with the network for whatever reason. Lets try this.

First, go to Modem > Connection Information and make sure the APN = broadband. Save and Apply.

Next, disable Connection Monitoring.

Just to assure the modem is configured properly.....run the following commands, one at a time and waiting for a response before entering the next.

Code: Select all

AT!ENTERCND="A710"
AT!USBCOMP=1,1,1009
AT!CUSTOM="IPV6ENABLE",1
AT+CGDCONT=1,"ipv4v6","broadband"
AT+CGDCONT=2,"ip","broadband"
AT!SELMODE=2
AT!SELRAT=00
AT!BAND=00
AT+CFUN=1
AT!RESET

Wait about 10 seconds after the last command is run. Unplug the power.

Install SIM Card (making 100% certain it is fitting the SIM card adapter correctly if one is being used, and the SIM Card/Adapter clicking smoothly into place).

Power on the router and see what happens.

Run this command and post the returns (removing half the number):

Code: Select all

AT!ENTERCND="A710"
AT+CNUM
Then,

Code: Select all

AT!LTEINFO?

The modem (running generic firmware) is reading the SIM card and numbers.

It is trying to connect to the network but its currently status is deregistered.

There are a couple of things that may cause this, and we have addressed many of them above. Something that must be considered is signal strength, or lack thereof.

Does the MoFi connect using the same SIM card, APN settings while at the same location?

Is the MC7455 installed inside the WE826? If so, check to assure U.FL connector has not popped off the modem's Main antenna port, and that the Main and Aux ports are being used (and not the GPS port).

Yes the sim when in the mofi works with"broadband" APN, signal strength is 96 and it pulls down 25-29 consistently. The we826 is literally 2' away from it.

Yes the MC7455 is installed inside the we826.

The aux. port had popped off. I must not have snapped it fully on. I snapped it on and rebooted but still no internet.

Do I need to run through trouble shooting guide again now?

I reset MC7455 and now I get internet, but the internet light does not come on for the router, and my desktop reads it as Network 10 instead of what I named it. Wifi works as it should and is named correctly.

Yes, installing the U.FL connectors can certainly make a difference. In the troubleshoot guide they are listed as number 3.

Again, and I say this for the benefit of everyone, 95% of all connection issues may be resolved by following the troubleshooting guide--and it is a lot less time consuming for everyone.

As for your network card name, you might try something like THIS
