WE826 and EM7455 Connection issues-WiFi Working but not LAN?

So, through much trial and error I now have a mostly working WE826-T2 with a EM7455 modem installed, and have been using this setup on Verizon for the last month or so.

The setup generally works great. I have a WiFi router connected by ethernet to the WE826, as well as a desktop computer. The wireless router works well and connects to many smart devices in my home without issue. However, I don't keep my desktop powered on 24/7, and often times I go to boot the desktop and see that I have no internet connection, despite my WiFi still working and functioning as expected. I do not use the WiFi that is part of the WE826 as the range was severely limited, and I want my desktop connected to the WE826 by ethernet for best speeds and latency.

It seems like the LAN port for the desktop is deactivating or going to sleep and not waking up when the computer is powered on. Not sure if that's really a thing, but it appears to be what is going on. I have tried other ethernet ports on the modem/router with identical results.

The extra weird thing is that it doesn't always do this. Some times I'll boot my computer for the first time that day and it will connect just fine.

Anyone have any advice on how to fix this issue? Any tips or tricks would be much appreciated. Here is the Debug and device info from the user interface, when the WiFi is working, but desktop ethernet connection is not:

I have pretty much the same setup and do not experience your issues. Only difference is my desktop is placed in sleep mode, instead of powering down but doubt that makes a difference.

I would focus on the LAN card (most likely integrated with motherboard). Your BIOS may have some settings for your LAN card, just have to do some research as there are hundreds (thousands?) of configurations between all the manufacturers.

You should also make sure your LAN card is up-to-date and running the latest driver.

If it were me, would search on Amazon for "usb to lan" and buy one of those around $10-15 adapters and use it to test with. If issue disappears, then you know it in the on board LAN card.

Thanks for the reply, hadn't even considered the LAN card on the desktop. Mostly because restarting the PC didn't make a difference, and only restarting the WE826 fixed the issue.

I changed my setup a bit today-received a new router from the Amazon Vine Program (Linksys MX5 WiFi 6 router), so now I am running ethernet to the router and then another ethernet cable from the router to my PC. Since WiFi didn't previously have an issue with disconnecting, I am hoping that connecting the PC to the new router rather than the WE826 directly will circumvent this issue.

Guess we'll see how it goes!

Maybe restarting the WE826 wakes the LAN card up by signaling it? Total guess but stranger things have happened.

Hope you get it figured out and please do share the outcome. Would be totally surprised if it were the WE826.
