MR6500 issues and questions

Hi all,
I am new to this forum, since I recently bought an MR6500 and...of course now the issues start. First of all, I am new to hotspot flashing and all, but am fairly experienced with all the Android flashing, Custom ROM's, Running Ubuntu for my local Home Automation and everything, so not a complete Noob when it comes to these topics, but...feel a bit overwhelmed starting down this route for now, so please bear with me...hope for some support here.
So..the issue...I have the ATT MR6500 with firmware version NTGX65_12.01.16.01 and am operating it on the T-Mobile network in Germany. It may not offer full 5G speed, but I am not really concerned about that. It does use 5G, so that is ok.
My main issue is the Wifi side of things. I intend to run it without battery to enable the Wifi 6e network. This all seems to work according to the hotspot, but the 6GHz Wifi is not showing up on any of my devices (which really are 6GHZ Wifi capable, tested on other routers). So I am assuming something is wrong in the firmware or with the device. Since returning it is not really an option, I would like to go down the route of trying different firmwares and get the maximum out of the device.
Now to my questions....I have read that having the 12... firmware is a problem. But..is there anything I can do to get around it?
Flashing different firmware for it and actually downloading a build for this device...I have not been able to find a guide or downloadable firmware. Is there anyone which can point me in the right direction? I understand people do this for a living and I have no problems also paying for a service here...
Thanks in advance for any help or guidance to the right posts to get into this.
