Suncomm O2 as ATT hotspot

Looking into hotspot for my van home, need reliable video conferencing for work -- cell tethering ain't quite cutting it. Antenna salesman suggested Suncomm O2, as have some on these forums, but sounds somewhat plug-n-pray. I have experience with computer networking and home wifi, and have the courage to try to craft a non-turnkey solution.
1) should I just take what ATT offers -- Nighthawk M2 -- or can the Suncomm provide more reliable service
2) is there a "cookbook" for making the Suncomm O2 work with ATT hotspot service
3) are Suncomm O2 gen 1 and gen 2 largely equivalent? I found a sweet deal on a gen 1
4) is there another hotspot service superior to ATT I should consider, with or without Suncomm router?
5) Looking ahead, how do I decide between MIMO 2x2 and 4x4? Any others I should consider?
Thanks. Fantastic forum. h2p, g
