Does rain causes signal attenuation?

Hey all, bought and installed an external mimo antenna for my internet. Have seen some people say rain causes signal attenuation for any OTA transmissions, not just satellite. In theory, if properly installed and using quality equipment, should I get better signal/speed during rain events than without? Thanks in advance!

It can effect it, but a solid antenna setup will be better than none, even in a heavy rain event.

How much it can effect it, honestly I don't think is very much. But each location is different.

another thing i might add: type N connectors are not fully waterproof (even if they say they are), especially up here in seattle as it rains all the time. i have opened up my unprotected type N connectors to find a sizable amount of moisture in them, which can significantly reduce your signal over the cables. i would recommend putting a bead of vaseline around the threads of your type N connectors on your external antenna, and then wrapping them with this: https://amzn.to/3GVWsLl
