Band locking M6 MR6500

Greetings - Looking for assistance or a second set of eyes on how to select/change added bands on the new M6 MR6500.
M1 series - Web interface
M5 series - Mobile app interface
M6 series - Neither option is available (the mobile app omits the 'Bands' option under the Settings | Network | section
Adding custom band options through the CLI is/was straightforward in the same way as the M5 series - including retaining after reboots. However there is no UI to actually select the specific bands after they have been added to the band table.
Has anyone else experimented with, or encountered this with the M6 units? In particular, @Rich Hathaway?
Thanks in advance.

you can try with "at !band=xx" where xx stands for index number for the band option that you want to pick up as default

Thanks, yes, correct, that does work. [Inelegant though due to a terminal connection required each time a band change is needed (when traveling) - (e.g. LTE to 5G, AT&T to Verizon, etc.)]

Netgear changed FW behavior which is preventing custom band selection, going through terminal is the only way at the moment
there is a tool, mrCONFIG at tinyurl.com/mrCONFIGTools, that can do the same as Telnet tool but more simple and convenient, you can give a try

I just toyed around with mrCONFIG, inside and outside Sandbox, couldn't get it to work.
Telnet with PuTTY to port 5510 is open, AT!GSTATUS does not work, command is case sensitive
command works
command also works
Following the article on
Waveform for the M1, I think I've been able to set the band to Band 12. I initiated a reboot from the web GUI and the bands seem to persist, though the web GUI and at!gstatus shows different...
Code: Select all
at!band=?
Index, Name, GW_Mask LTE_1-64 LTE_65-128 NR5G_1-64 NR5G_65-128 NR5G_257-320
03, LTE B12, 0000000000000000 0000000000000800 0000000000000000 0000000000000000 0000000000000000 0000000000000000

0000000010000000 - LTE B29
0000000000002000 - LTE B14
0000000000000800 - LTE B12
0000000000000040 - LTE B7

0000000000000008 - LTE B4
0000000000000004 - LTE B3
0000000000000002 - LTE B2
0000000000000001 - LTE B1

0000000010000000 - NR5G N29
0000000000002000 - NR5G N14
0000000000000800 - NR5G N12
0000000000000010 - NR5G N5
0000000000000002 - NR5G N2

0000000000000002 - NR5G N66
0000000000000008 - NR5G N260
I'm not sure how good you guys are at this, but I'm trying to lock on to LTE B12. So far this looks right imo after following that Waveform article, but like I said the GUI (and at!gstatus) shows different.

Can you reply back with a screen shot showing the difference you are referencing? (e.g. at!gstatus=? output | screen capture of the Status | Diagnostics window).
BTW - a specific example command for adding LTE band 12 would be: at!band=03,"LTE B12",0,800
<0x - x=any number between 0-9 not currently in use> | "LTE B12" - human readable text for your reference | 0=no CDMA value | 800=LTE Band 12>

Not really band locking but what I did with my MR6400 was to create a custom band list with dc-unlocker and applied it.

@jhartbarger
Glad you found a solution that works for you.

only side note is that if I master reset the device I have to re-apply it.

Yes - and, that is correct whether using the manual band lock or DC Unlocker methods. I found it be simply a nuisance, since it was very easy to manually add new band lock lists after the fact. (~15-30 seconds, followed by the reboot)

Sorry I have a very silly question, I’ve try to use mrconfig, but it everytime just show me ’mrconfig’ is not recognised as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. How can I fix it?
