NEXQ6GO / EM12 Not Connecting

Been playing with this for a couple days. I'm trying to get two NEXQ6GO / EM12 units to connect to Visible. I have a WG3526/EM160 that runs the SIM and same settings, including VSBLINTERNET APN without an issue.

In MBIM I get this:

I've kinda reached the end of my knowledge and haven't found anything on hear from anyone else. Any help would be much appreciated.

Update: Its doing the same thing on my main phone SIM (VZ). Is this the modem?

Went through all that and still has the same issues in the system log.

What I restarted it is did change the APN's:

Hey there,

Re-flash the router again with out saving any settings, via firmware recover, 3x in a row.

Fresh start.



Don't set any settings on the router except:

System->System-> Time zone and System Time sync with browser. Save and apply settings.

System->Admin-> Password. Save and apply.

Modem->Connection profile->APN. set to IPV4/IPV6 connection type. no user no password, NONE for encryption type. Save and apply.

That's it.

The rest is 100% modem based until you get connected. TTL and HL settings will be needed, but get connected first. Don't touch any other router settings... for now.


Once that is done.

We hit the modem.

Cleat out all APNs.

AT+CGDCONT=etc
Then set only 1 and 3

All Visible SIMs should be activated in a cell phone and tested for connection in the phone before use in any other device.

I recommend setting your modems identity to something that resembles the identity of the Visible phone registered to the SIM card. Can't talk about that process here, but it's not hard to find. It's the same process for all Quectel modems. One command.

Send the modem these commands, even if you did already:

If this one fails, it's no big deal, move past it:

Thanks for your help on this.

I've followed your exact instructions using my VZ sim card. This is one that works well on a phone and I assume its easier than Visible. I ONLY touched router setting you called out and NOT the Modem settings yet as I believe you said to wait until its connected for that.

I did check that the APN in the modem was correct.

I'm happy to have you jump on a computer remotely to look over it but something is not right. Could it be something with the connection? like antennas? I doubt it as I live in the middle of a major metropolitan area. Thanks again!

No, I did not change the identity as these SIMs have been used a lot in other modems and have always connected. I was trying not to change too much as we go. I can tho if you really think that's it.

I also just tested both of these SIM cards in my MOFI4500 and just changed the APN and both connected fine. I don't think its the service unless its unique to this modem.

It's possible.

When you are testing with Visible, I'm assuming you are changing both CGDCONT=1 and CGDCONT=3 to vsblinternet along with the Connection Profile->APN ?

It wont work on Visible using the vzwinternet APN. Just have to say it in case that was missed. I've done it plenty.

I only use "identity" matched devices on Verizon based plans. I couldn't tell you why it would or wouldn't work without it. I have seen it not work until that one thing was changed.

Could be that Verizon is blocking all devices with the Quectel TAC# (first part of the IMEI number. I have seen Quectel not work unless you changed the identity, but Sierra and Telit worked fine without changing it.

I went ahead and tested that. It did not improve.

So far I've tested 2 different VZ cards and a Visible card and all have the exact same results in the log. Their has to be something else. Should I load a previous software?

I purchased a couple of cheap WE826 routers from amazon. Fired them up, set the PW, set the clock, set the APN for VZ, and it connected right away. It's using the Quectel EP06. Something is up with these routers or modems and its not looking like a simple setting or command.
