Help with Phone Tethering

Hello,
By reading this forum, I've discovered that tethering my phone through USB to my NEXQ6GO router to use it as a modem is a possibility. Even though I have a great signal with the tower, I'm only able to get mediocre speeds due to the fact I'm on band 12, a band prone to congestion. I know there's a second, slightly weaker band 12 signal in my area and I'd like to up my speeds by utilizing it, but my CAT 6 modem can't aggregate the two band 12s. I know my phone can aggregate the bands and I would like to test if purchasing a better modem would be worth it by using my phone as a modem, but I can't figure out how to do it. Have I misunderstood what I've read and this isn't a possibility? Any tips regarding congestion? I would greatly appreciate any help.
