Wireless Joint

I already have the router and really like the size of it. Rarely do I use the WiFi. So I could put the other 2 antennas in the WiFi spots. My other idea is in the top, one above the SIM card, and the other one on the other end. Thoughts?

Your trying to do what get a 4x4 mimo setup?

If yes then you COULD use the holes in the case where the wifi pigtails went but you would have to replace the pigtails and hook the new pigtails to the modem. The old pigtails are likely soldered to the motherboard and thus would have to be wrapped in something non-conductive and taped inside the unit as I would NEVER EVER recommend snipping them.

Also I am not sure the holes are exactly the same size between pigtails connectors either. Thus you might have to extend the holes or use washers to make the new pigtail connectors fit properly.

Well my setup is ONLY 2x2 and I have a wg3526. Got that one for exactly th e reasons you are talking about. Should I ever want/need to go to 4x4 modding the smaller cases would be a pain. Also was worried about heat as I live in Georgia and the em3526 is metal and has much more interior space.

Also the decision maker for me was the wg3526 has gigabit eithernet. While I also do not use the wireless on my unit I do hook it to another roouter that servers the entire house. The 10/100 in that instance is a possible bottleneck.

But back to your original question.... I would be careful trying to from the top as my concern would be the inside of the pigtails barrel might to to long to fit properly without crimping the wires on the end. Again I dont have your unit just telling you what I would check.

If your dead set on modding your current unit I would do as I outlined in the first post. get the new pigtails, widen the holes used by the wifi pigtails and the thw wifi pigtails securely with non conductive tape inside the unit. Keep in mind if your not using external antennas you will need to purchase extra "paddle" antennas for the 2 newly made ports.

Its all put together now. Having trouble connecting to ATT. Network status says failed to connect:retrying
