AT&T Unlimited Elite in Pepwave

Sorry if this is a repeat question, but I've read so many conflicting posts about this question, so I'm hoping to get a definitive answer....
I currently have an ATT unlimited elite plan for my cell phone, but I was thinking about adding a line to get a sim to use in my pepwave transit cat-18. I have read multiple posts (from late last year/early this year) of people saying that they did this and just threw the SIM in their pepwave router and it worked fine...but I've also seen posts saying that AT&T is IMEI locked and it won't work.
Is there anyone that has tried this/is currently doing this that can 100% confirm if it will work??
