Calyx, WG1608D-M and Quectel EM160R-GL

I bought this combo months ago and am not happy with it. I have never been able to get it to work using all of the tutorials. At the time I purchased it a few months this setup was recommended.

Now the WG1608D-M appears to be bricked. It responds to ping but not web console. I've tried a hundred times to reset it to factory defaults and it never does.

I had always used ddwrt in the past and found it very intuitive, goldenorb did not seem intuitive at all to me.

Do I have other options to use for router that uses openwrt that I could put this modem in? Is there another modem/router setup that would support openwrt?

I am using Calyx.
