hello,
I purchased the NEXQ6GO-M , Mini pci-e to m.2 adapter with top sim card slot and the EM12-G CAt12 M.2 modem. The Modem Miscellaneous screen says modem present/not connected.I have a working visible sim (20meg down on unlocked iphone 7)installed in NEXQ6GO-M sim slot on the side of NEXQ6GO.I Flashed Firmware to NEXQ6GO.Followed the tutorial for setup.I ordered the EM12-G modem with latest firmware for modem. I have tried the AT commands and all i get is errors.I'm confused on what to do next. The tutorial states for MC7455.How do i switch between MBIM or QMI ? I tried typing the at commands as shown with no success.errors.Also do i need to install my sim in the M.2 adapter slot? I'm also looking for spreadsheet from JIM on band locking at commands for visible/verizon.I searched for other related issues before typing this.

Hey there.

The firmware for the NEXR5GO is the same setup, look here for instructions: https://wirelessjoint.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=2212

Modified instructions for the EM12G are in the comments.

I go through the steps, including the modified steps for the em12-g, it worked the first time and I also got around 7mbps down.

I then tried to experiment with some band locking and it got slower, so I came back, re-did these instructions and mine seems to be stuck on no modem present. I've waited for about 20 min now and its still the same.

is there a way to restore this device to oem standards? I'm worried I did something wrong

Before you do that just try power cycling it first.

wow youre totally right that did it lol. I tried a power cycle before but I must not have waited long enough.

So I'm getting about 14 mbps down and 23 mbps up...
I live in oceanside, CA so its by no means rural and I can only assume coverage for visible in this area should be fine.
You guys think that's just about what I can expect with visible?

I need this internet to work out of my RV, since i live in it half the time because I'm going through a divorce. I feel like i may need to just shell out the money for t-mobile magenta or something

Visible speeds are all over the place. Seen 7-14 then literally 70-90 the next minute. Honestly for one person that might be enough speed to work.
Do you plan on moving around in this thing or just sitting in one place?
If you really need internet all the time with no interruption might consider having two of them. Could also get a AT&T tablet plan unlimited plan for like $25 per month. That will work in about any device with out TTL settings.
Also when you are locking bands are you just locking one band at a time? The EM12 can combine up to 3 bands at one time that is what makes it a category 12 modem.

Yea I'm moving around. Currently going through a divorce, so half the time in going to live out of my van.

I tried logging towers but got really slow speeds... I don't know if I was doing it right. So instead I just followed these setup instructions https://wirelessjoint.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=2212

And just left it alone.. think I should give locking bands another try?

With visible certain places work great other places don't. You might need more than one service.
If you locking to only one band or locking to low signal bands could make it worse.

With Verizon typically band 13 is the slower one.
Try just blocking it out.

2+4+5+66
AT+QCFG="band",0,2000000000000001a

All bands:
AT+QCFG="band",0,42000000003300185a,1

In my experience, CA doesn't work with b4 & b66 together, as one is the subset of the other (similar to 12/25). You could just remove b4 from the mix.

Please correct me if I'm wrong 🙂

Well if you leave it all in can let it do it's own thing. Not all towers have the bands. Was just taking 13 out since it is typically the slower one.
