I bought the wg1608 with open wrt installed on it, and I'm using the EM7565 modem. I got it set up, and worked fine, but when I tried to switch from mbim ot qmi mode. The modem kept saying it was timing out but, but still getting am Internet connection. I've done the restoring the COM port tutorial( https://wirelessjoint.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=223) but still doing the same thing. Also I can use any AT! commands either. I've exhausted all of my limited knowledge and I would love any help with the issue.

You way want to try and set the ttyUSB2 in the modem Custom Modem Ports menu.

Also did you see this:

I did try the link. I also switched the modem ports to ttyUSB2. And nothing seemed to happen. but on the debug information window in the modem section is no longer showing time out error.
Is there anyway I can issue AT commands through PUTTY?

Hey buddy - I posted this thread to the FB to try to get some extra input. Maybe we can do another remote session this week and I can try to help some more. Seems odd nothings working EXCEPT the fact that the modem is still communicating on the network just not locally responding to commands.

Sorry for the late response, I've been behind on a lot of work lately.

You can send AT commands via putty. Its the best way usually.

use picocom or minicom. If neither of those are installed you can use SOCAT.

Let me know if you need help with those methods.

Another thing is pulling the modem and using a usb adapter to your PC and running Huawei modem terminal to send at commands to the modem to set it back the way you want.

Thanks Didney - picocom didn't work, but we're going to try another thing before going USB route
