Surrounded by trees

I have been using a cell booster for about 2 years now, but its really slow (max about 5 Mbps and very inconsistent). I have 1 yagi antenna outside about 20 ft off the ground (nowhere near high enough to clear the trees) and im using AT&T's $75 unlimited plan through my phone. I don't have a huge budget and I don't want to spend a whole lot anyway since fiber is now hanging on the pole across the street from my house (its SUPPOSED to be available around June). I am thinking of buying a Nighthawk to try or some other relatively cheap option that might allow me to take advantage of MIMO. Would my sim even work in a Nighthawk? Any suggestions are appreciated.

Hello,
The trees are they close to this pole? Allot of times it isn't the amount of trees you have to go thru but how close they are to your antenna. An antenna is going to be better than that booster.

There are a couple close to the pole. Other than the house, a large driveway in front, and a small area in the back, our whole property is pretty much trees.

Really maters in the direction of your tower. If three is close trees in the direction of your tower it makes it harder. Not impossible but harder.

Yep, they are in the direction of the tower. Inside the house (without the booster) you can only get a signal right by the window in the front of the house and right by the windows in the back of the house. So that actually makes sense now, because that is the only areas without close trees. We also have a metal roof which doesn't help.

The Nighthawk is a Cat 16 Modem which is the good news.

The bad news is that Cell Carriers HATE this thing!
It’s going to be hard for find a SIM/Data plan that with work for you.

Have you looked into T-Mobile Home internet yet?
How about StarLink?

None of the cellular home internet services are available here. I am interested in Starlink and have been following it closely for a long time, but they dont offer service here yet. I am too far south. Honestly, with the amount of trees on my property, I am doubtful that I could get a clear view of the sky for Starlink.

StarLink taking pre orders for Texas. $100 to get on the waiting list.

Could put the StarLink dish on a flagpole or in a tree
