Can stream 4K but can’t browse Reddit?

Hello everyone. Would appreciate any tips with this annoying issue.

I have a Spitz router on T-mobile service (tablet plan). The spitz runs OpenWRT.

I average around 25-35 mbps on speeds tests, I’m able to watch Netflix in 4K, YouTube , Hulu ext with no stutters or issues. I can even download torrents in high speed but simple things like a google search or scrolling through Reddit (Apollo) are noticeably slow and has long delays. What’s strange is these delays are only on my mobile devices (iPad, iPhone) but not on my TV or Xbox.

Any ideas why or if anything can be done?

I’ve already changed the modem IMEI to that of an iPad, I modified the TTL, band locked, changed DNS server, tried changing the MTU too. Not sure what else I can do. Any ideas?

How slow are the mobile connections? Is all data usage slower on mobile or just google and Reddit?

I’m assuming your mobile devices work fine on other WiFi but are slow just on your WiFi? Are the devices (tv etc) that work fine also on WiFi?

I’ve had an issue where different TTL firewall settings resulted in phone being throttled by carrier but computer not, or vice versa (whether on WiFi or Ethernet). With a different setup and carrier that yours, but thought I’d mention it.

Hello,
Try setting DNS. For first easy test download cloud flare app on these mobile devices and see if it works using that. If it does looks like an DNS issue.
