Is there any reason that the NEXR5GO couldn't use a hotspot on a phone or dedicated hot spot as a internet connection to route to clients? Then a follow-up, will it run without a cell modem installed? I'm asking because I want to run multiple sources of internet providers and a couple of the sources will standard hotspot/phone/jetpack providers while others will be sim from the cell modem. I'm wanting to do this in phases and purchase the router first then bring the modem in to the fold later.

Yes. Look up WiFi as WAN for openWRT, its the same basic setup. I've done it on another similar model router.
