B2+B14+B66 is a valid combination (3 x CA)for my modem and the tower nearest me. Using the calculated AT string from the tutorial, do I have to remove any auto scan default command first ? Save the default setup first ?

The CA is not, and can not be, controlled by the modem at all; it merely has capability.
If you lock to those specific bands, then you have a good chance of getting it to do so. They kicker is that the modem HAS TO use the first band in your CA combo as the anchor band, aka the primary serving cell. If it connects to B66 as the primary, then it may not work, unless B66 + B2 + B14 (or B66 + B14 + B2) is listed as a combo for the EM12. The order of the combo is very important, it is not random.

Whoa that's good to know about the combination order. I don't think I've ever seen that. I tried to spell everything out to help folks who logically search using whole terms. Seems to be the kicker with everyone abbreviating.

So far, so good with an occasional outage that unplugging and re-plugging seems to fix
