WE826-T2 + MC7455 - Verizon Prepaid Unlimited - MBIM Connection Crashes when Failover Occurs

Hello All,
I have a WE826-T2 w/ an MC7455 running GoldenOrb GoldenOrb_2020-03-01 (OpenWrt 18.06.7) that I have connected to a pfSense box running failover.
I am able to bring the WE826-T2 online and get Internet, but when I trigger failover on the pfSense box and start routing over the WE826, the MBIM connection drops within 10 seconds. The only error log I can find in OpenWRT is "user.notice MBIM Monitor: Modem 1 Connection is Down (activation state: deactivated)"
Running AT!GSTATUS? shows that RRC State is "RRC Idle" which I believe means that the modem has dropped its connection to the LTE network.
I have tried extensive troubleshooting including QMI and MBIM connections, setting up Policy based routing on the pfSense box and directing certain machines out the LTE connection (this works fine). It only crashes out when all traffic is pushed out through the LTE connection. I'm wondering if the sheer amount of devices on the network trying to get out simultaneously causes the modem to freak out...
I'm pretty sure this is not hardware as we had a WE3526 with another MC7455 connection which experienced the same issue. Could a signal problem cause this issue?
Any advice would be appreciated. I am troubleshooting this remotely, but have a reliable primary connection, so I can bang on it without breaking my remote connection.
