Is changing my router the best option???

Here is a video about why different devices matter.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxsEEDsgM3c
Watched this video and have come to this conclusion. I have the MOFI4500 Sim4. I have a sim card provided by OTR Mobile which offers an unlimited plan on the T-Mobile network. In my area the only T-Mobile signal I can get is off 1 tower which emits bands 2 and 12 only. 2 is pretty useless, its far less than 1 Mbps down. Since band 12 is the best there is for me (around 5-7 Mbps down), carrier aggregation doesn't really matter correct? Combining with band 2 is rather pointless. My best option would be finding a unit to replace the MOFI that's has a higher "raw" power, I believe is how they put it. Is that correct? I would not necessarily get any more bands, but the relative difference in the units may give me a slight increase. Right now the MOFI being a Cat 6, if replaced with a Cat 18 should have some improvement?

Already wrote one post about your signal strength here.
https://wirelessjoint.com/viewtopic.php?f=15 ... =30#p12304
With that being said seen you have another post that you where trying to use verizon as well. If verizon has more bands available then a higher cat modem could make it faster.
in you signal strength photo it shows
Band : 12 LTE bw :
5 MHz (700 Mhz)
That 5 MHz is your band width. How much data you can tap into basically. What carrier aggregation does is allows you to combine more bands together increasing your band width. And that is all it is to get more speed.
More signal strength with more band width.
I have 15MHz on T-Mobile on band 2 and do just fine with it. Took tinkering with it to figure out how to get best in my situation.
Also if you are going to try to keep using T-Mobile is that tower that is 7 miles away your closet tower? Most of my set ups have been in the 5 miles range. Seen people do it this far here but they had very tall towers and parabolic grid antennas.
Don't get discouraged allot of people here are giving you good advice you are on your way to get this figured out.

I appreciate you answering here and that other post. I felt like I was taking over the OP's thread which is why I posted here. I went back to delete the other and couldn't.
I'm just trying to get it to work better and willing to buy what ever I need. It worked better with the Verizon card and that is my preference, but had the throttling issue. I did receive your reply saying to change the TTL with a video link. I'm going to check out the video now.
I'm taking in all you said and trying to digest it. Yes. That T-Mobile tower is the closet T-Mobile tower. We have a Verizon tower about 2 miles away.
If someone can delete that other post, I'd appreciate. I know double posts are annoying.
Thanks again.

It would be nice to get a baseline of the MoFi working at it’s best.
I would order a car power adaptor for the MoFi and bring the unit to the Cell tower of your dreams. Do a band scan, and a speed test, run the speed test three times to get an average. Take good notes, would like to see
what day, and time of day of speed test.
What are the:
RSRP dBm (Reference Signal Received Power)
RSRQ dB (Refeence Signal Received Quality)
SINR dB (Signal to Interference & Noise Ratio)
Car Power MoFi

The Mofi is a nice unit with some good tool.
