POE Splitter for WG3526 (non-P version)

Hello,

Addressing current supply/demand concerns, I purchased a used WG3526 recently. It is the non-POE version. My setup will eventually evolve into the need to support this using POE. Thankfully, there are options (I am currently powering my MOFI4500 using an injector/splitter setup with decent success).

Concerns are ensuring this setup has the amperage it needs--just placed an order for a Quectel EM12-G CAT12 M.2 modem (this ideally would have been an EM20-G, but they don't appear to be available anymore) to replace the kit's existing EC25-AF, and dealing with unknowns--attempting to identify the correct power barrel jack size that the WG3526 needs isn't as obvious as it first seems. I have yet to locate/break-out my old calipers from my garage stash of junk.

With that said, I'll post what I find, but does anyone have:
*Specs on the WG3526's power barrel jack size (in millimeters)
*Advice on POE splitter solutions (injectors too if you have some ideas)--I have POE injector routers available; however, the amperage they supply may be inadequate for what I am doing here

Thank you!

Justin

Pretty sure they're 2.1mm. I use a 2A splitter and it works fine with my em12-g, though a 2.5A would probably be better. As for the injector, a 30w should suffice for a 2A splitter, but a 45w or 60w is generally recommended as it will support longer ethernet runs and not be always pushing near its max.

You are correct, Viper67857--the barrel jack looks to be 5.5 x 2.1 x 10mm (a 2.1mm jack)

The 48V to 12V 3A POE+ Gigabit Splitter sold by thewirelesshaven.com & https://facebook.com/netsolution.shop/shop/ appears to be a solid choice as well. Alternatives to facebook stores TBD--for a 3Amp solution, so far this is it.

Can't go wrong with that splitter... The Wireless Haven only stocks what's been tested to work well with the routers and modems they sell.

This is likely overkill:
* StarTech.com UPOESPLT1G StarTech Network 1Port 60W PoE Injector Splitter Kit (about $170 US)

I am surprised that there aren't many common options for a 12V DC POE splitter rated at 3Amps (36watts).

You need to be careful here. There are two common PoE specs: IEEE 802.3af-2003 and IEEE 802.3at-2009. The af flavor only supplies 16 Watts of power. The at flavor supplies 25 Watts.

If you want more than 16 Watts (actually only 12.5W at the device), you need to insure that your PoE splitter and injector are 802.3at
