WiFiX WE826 Settings

Post by fux0r360 »

Im wondering if the Impact Wireless settings in this junker modem and dingleberry may be making it suck so bad.

Hostname ImpactWireless
Model ZBT-WE826 (16M)
Architecture MediaTek MT7620A ver:2 eco:6
Firmware Version GoldenOrb_2019-11-16
Kernel Version 4.14.131

any settings I should look at?

The new people posted about putting "b2b.static" in APN

the only APN i could find is in Modem Connection Profiles.

Didnt seem to do anything.

Please let me know if there is other info to post that would help anyone

Usually changing APN isn't the best idea.

The router firmware is dated, I believe there is newer firmware available.

Try not to test "speeds" via wifi, many goldenorb based/capable LTE routers have abysmal wifi speeds and really shouldnt be the benchmark for how fast your router is.

I think focusing on optimizing your antenna signal stats should be primary focus before touching speed testa, though sometimes certain speed test results can be a tell tale. For example, if you have very low download speeds and high upload speeds, you likely have tower band congestion; too many people using the same tower and band. If you have higher download speed and almost non existent or even failed upload speeds you likely do not have a strong enough signal going out (weak antenna, too dar from tower) and are unable to communicate back to the cell tower; though the cell signal is reaching you via high power tower radio transmissions.

Hope this helps some

What modem is installed in your router?

Thanks for the explanation. I used to be able to seed linux distro torrents, play online, all sorts of havoc and then suddenly BOOM. El sucko. Can barely surf the web.

I am using a netgear unite explorer or aircard or someting right now because the unit described above blows so bad. the modem a WE826 and an "Alicorn" Wingle USB dongle thingy. I opened the router and i didnt find anything chunky.
