This is a router I’ve been looking at. I would be using AT&T bands 2,12 & 66.

The seller on Amazon that has these doesn’t have any detailed answers to questions.

He did tell me you cannot lock on a particular band with it. At the same time he had no idea what it has for a modem either, but it has the ec25-a Mini PCIe slot. It supposedly also supports openwrt. I wonder if that would give the option to upgrade to O.S. and then be able to lock to a band.
If anyone knows this router I would appreciate your thoughts about it.

Hello,
Yes have experience with EC25-AF. Bought it to test out band 71 with tmobile. Ended up my uncle used it for awhile. Literally just changed it out last night. It is a good modem easy to use in my opinion but only connects to one band at a time. Very low CAT modem.
Changed his router out from a EC25-AF to a EP06 which CAT 6 modem uses 2 bands at once.
His speeds went from 5,6,7 down to like 17 to 25 down by doing this. For a little more you can by the CAT 6 version from The Wireless Haven.
Super easy to install. Here is a picture of what you would need if you want to go that route.

Thanks that was very helpful. So you use 2 bands at the same time? That's interesting, I 'll have to research that some more.

Yes it is called Carrier aggregation. It is how you get faster speeds with more advance modems. This is also why phones have got faster over the years.
Here is a video of some camping people that do good job explaining Cat modems. Now take there equipment advice with a grain of salt. Because they are moving from place to place not setting up a fixed location. Which is totally different than what we are doing in my opinion.
