MTU-MSS Clamping with Cradlepoint CBA850LP6

Kind of new so please if answer is somewhere already would you please share link...
Hi - we bought the refurbished Cradlepoint CBA850LP6 and are using it in pass through mode. No problem activating with Verizon account. The issue is we want to use it with a Unifi Mesh network and it keeps hanging up. I can set MSS clamping on the Unifi USG (i.e. router) but not sure about value. I don't see other people having issues with MSS clamping on Wireless Joint forum. I did found this on the cradlepoint site:

Examples:
Max IP packet size before fragmentation with LTE.
1428 LTE MTU
20 bytes for IP
20 bytes for TCP
= 1388 MSS

Is this LTE MTU value of 1428 typical for Cradlepoint or is it provider dependent? Or?

Thanks!

Hopefully someone responds. I have no clue what MSS clamping is, lol.

I've seen MTU values set a little higher, but I think they are network dependent. I think you can use a special setting on the ping test on your network to optimize MTU values.

Here's a method to determine your ideal MTU value.
