MC7700 Not finding network!

Whats up guys so I 'm pretty new to all of this but wanted to give it a shot!
I purchased a WE826-t2 downloaded the The Wireless Haven firmware GoldenOrb_2020-04-27
Purchased a MC7700 popped it in and having no luck connecting to ATT

The WE826 reads the modem just fine, but won't go further than that. Through my research, I found out that maybe my modem needs to be reset to OEM. I have tried that using the
at!RMARESET=OEM but get an ERROR
I also tried making sure it was on MBIM mode but that command failed aswell.

Here are some of my stats

Code: Select all

Your in low power mode

Before entering commands you have to enter

Code: Select all

AT!ENTERCND="A710"
Try

Code: Select all

AT+CFUN=1

Where did you get the modem?

Also make sure your using commands for your particular modem, the MC7700. Different Sierra modems have some different commands. The Sierra Wireless website has all the AT command references available

It also looks like its not reading your SIM card. What plan are you using and where did you put the SIM card. I have to ask. :)

thats where i got the modem

The AT+CFUN=1 command gives me an ERROR
If I put AT+CFUN=0 it works but still low power mode

+cfun=1, that was the command listed on the sierra wireless website, it had TIMEOUT ERROR

Also the sim is inserted on the side of the box, where the sim slot is.

Another issue it seems to be having is it takes a bunch of tries before it connects to the modem.

Code: Select all

Did you enter

Code: Select all

AT!ENTERCND="A710"
Before the other commands?

It unlocks the ability to run most commands.

If it says connected, then your good.

Run the

Code: Select all

at!gstatus?
Command for us

Yes that command works perfectly which is odd

Code: Select all

AT!ENTERCND="A710"
OK

Code: Select all

AT+CFUN=1
ERROR

Code: Select all

at!gstatus?
!GSTATUS:
Current Time: 1344 Temperature: 37
Bootup Time: 1 Mode: LOW POWER MODE
System mode: Unknown PS state: Not attached
GMM (PS) state:DEREGISTERED NO SERVICE
MM (CS) state: IDLE NO SERVICE

OK
The protocol does show QMI, maybe thats the issue?

No, your protocol is fine either way. MBIM or QMI. Sierra cards work well with QMI.

The
PS State: Not attached
part makes me think your SIM card doesnt like something. But low power mode is my bigger concern.

Enter

Code: Select all

AT!IMPREF?

100% honesty, plugging it into your pc might've been bad move. You couldnt have known of course, but Windows likes to do weird things to modem settings.

Search "Daniel Wood Script" on here.

Might be some help. But Im not sure the models will play the same.

I am getting an error for that command aswell, it does show my sim card in the Modem/SIM info

Image

Code: Select all

at!entercnd="A710"
OK

Code: Select all

AT!IMPREF?
ERROR
All of these errors suck, hard to gain any info when its error after error

Also it was never plugged into my pc it went straight into the WE826

Dont play with Daniels Script until we can be sure its needed, or something similar.

I hear ya. Hmmmmm. I need to head off to bed. Ill sleep on it, hopefully someone else can chime in. Ive not been near my laptop to help search for help for you. All cell phone.

What APN are you using? You didn't answer. Also show us the network info that's just under the SIM info

If the modem never got plugged into the pc, that's good. For now

Try running

Code: Select all

 AT+CFUN?
and

Code: Select all

AT+CFUN=?
AND

Code: Select all

AT+CFUN=1,1
Of course after running

Code: Select all

AT+ENTERCND="A710"
first! :)

The CFUN command should be supported, according to the Sierra AT documents.

Lots of info here: https://source.sierrawireless.com/devic ... es/mc7700/

I wouldn't play with drivers, they are no good for the router. Firmware may be something to look into updating.

Just read back through. 2 Things.

1. The command is

Code: Select all

AT!RMARESET=1
2. This modem does not support MBIM mode :)

Run the

Code: Select all

AT!ENTERCND="A710"
command and then the

Code: Select all

AT!RMARESET=1
Then after a few minutes, power down and restart. Not reboot, but a full power cycle. See what happens then.

It could be a driver issue for your modem (or the lack of) in the router's firmware.
Try adding this startup script into SYSTEM > STARTUP > LOCAL START UP (at the bottom)

Code: Select all

echo "0x1199 0x68a2" > /sys/bus/usb-serial/drivers/option1/new_id
Submit and restart the router, then see if the modem accepts AT commands.
If it doesn't work you can simply delete it.

So just an update, I purchased a MC 7455 popped it in and it worked great, i'm assuming its a modem issue with the mc 7700
