Unable to switch bands on EP06-A

Post by luke37 »

I have an EP06-A in a WE826 router. I use T-Mobile, and have a tower that is 4 miles away. I am only getting about 5 Mbps download speeds using band 12. I have tried switching to bands 2, 4, 5, 66, and 77. Bands 4, 66, and 71 connect, but only on WCDMA. Bands 2 and 5 will not connect.

I have followed the directions in this post, but still no luck. Also, the modem doesn't seem to want to pick up the band change specified by the AT command unless I restart. I know that it is supposed to pick it up on the fly, so I wasn't sure if that was an issue in itself.

Thanks gscheb. Good to know it isn't just me who has to restart when switching bands.

Any ideas on why I can't pick up LTE on any bands other than 12?

What kind of antennas are you using?

I actually had a discussion about my antenna with you a few days ago in this post.

I have the parabolic grid antenna

Well When you get that WCDMA means you are not connected "I BELIEVE". Think you are not getting these bands at all no connection to them.
How do you know all these bands are available?

cellmapper.net says the tower has bands 12,66, and 71, but just to be sure I tried the others as well. Any chance that tower could only have one band?

My tower has 3 bands in the country. Wouldn't think it would have only one. Never used the antenna type you have but heard they are very directional and you can miss a tower with them. Is there a chance it is point off enough to miss it?
Is there a tower you can point to to try it out even if it is farther away?
