I am looking for some feedback on if it is viable, better/worse, to reuse my existing router interfaced with a modem or switch to a new Modem/Router combo.
I have an ASUS RT-AC88U unit currently but if I need to could switch to the WG3526-P.
Thanks

Re: Existing Setup vs. New Equipment
Unfortunately the Asus AC88U doesn't have an OpenWRT firmware available yet (only the AC87U), so your best option is to go with a all-in-one router/modem combo.
Here's all you need to get started.

Antennas
At first you can try your service with the "stubby" antennas which comes with the router, and if you'd like to improve your signal/speed, you may want to get a pair of high gain external antennas.
