WE826 with MC7455

Hello all.
At my sister's home have a setup there with the unit in an outside enclosure with a POE setup. Thing has been running great for few weeks now all the sudden it won't connect. Modem says failed to connect. Not sure what to do. This is what I get when run status on it.

As long as you haven't made any setting changes right before the failure, I would first disconnect the power to the POE cable to have the remote modem/router reset completely, repower the POE cable, wait a few minutes, then do another status check. If still no dice, remove the sim from the router, insert it into a phone and see if you can call and/or go online (if it's a data only plan), then go from there. Unfortunately the drawback of a remotely installed modem/router, is that you have to climb up there to access the sim.
The idea here is to find out whether it's a hardware or service related issue.
Lately there have been a few reports that Verizon has started blocking mobile routers, just hope that's not your case.

Powered it on and off already. Didn't remove the Sim. It is a AT&T reseller. Contacted them they said all is good on their end.

My advice "Trust noone!" lol
Till you actually try the sim in a phone with the proper APN settings, you're just poking around in the dark without knowing the exact source of the issue. As silly as it may seem, has the service been paid for the current month?
Anyway, try to narrow it down to either the hardware or the service, and let us know your findings so we can all learn from it. :)

Yes service is paid for like the first thing had them check. Have had that happen before where the auto pay didn't go thru. Can't get over there today have prior arrangements.
Wondering if it being so cold has anything to do with it? It is a in an outside enclosure a legit one. Is there anyone that has issues with the could with outside setups out there?

Anything is possible, such as condensation on the circuit board and maybe a short, but cold itself usually is not an issue, in fact it makes conductivity better (on the other hand heat could a problem). Again, try to narrow it down to either the hardware of service.

Well did the ole switcheroo. Put known working sim into the router with exact same service provider and bam it works. So it is a card issue. Now to convince the provider of this. This is a legit unlimited hotspot plan. No TTL stuff needed here. So card should be working.

Out of curiosity, if you put the non-working sim into a phone to make a test call and go online, then put it back into the router, would it work? Or it doesn't work in the phone either?

It was completely dead. Wouldn't fit in phone it is a full size SIM.
Bought new SIM and they activated it and up and running again.
Had similar issue in the past with another provider that sells AT&T data.
Does anyone know why this happens?
Think about it. Will have the same SIM in a smart phone for years. Never just stops working one day.

I've seen in this issue before... inside the sim card there's a tiny encapsulated microchip die which is sensitive to both electrical and mostly external mechanical forces, it happens most often with full sized sim cards due to their larger surface area being bendable (happens a lot less with micro and nano sims). During insertion/extraction in and out of the sim card slot, people tend to press down and slightly bend the middle part of the sim where the chip is located, which can damage the chip and/or the extremely fine wires connecting the chip to the external contacts. Pheww, that was a mouthful. he-he
