connects to tower but no internet

Post by wayne »

Hi. I have a WE826 T-2 and an MC 7455 with a Sprint sim. It works fine, except at home. Here, it looks as if it connects, but I have not internet. Please tell me what may be wrong. Thanks.

Troubleshooting starts with running the following command to looks at the signals and then post the reply:

Code: Select all

AT!GSTATUS?

Code: Select all

PCC RxM RSSI: -87 RSRP (dBm): -117
PCC RxD RSSI: -94 RSRP (dBm): -140
SCC RxM RSSI: -94 RSRP (dBm): -114
SCC RxD RSSI: -104 RSRP (dBm): -140

If I were to guess, you have a U.FL pigtail connector that has popped off the AUX port on the modem, or, it is connected to the GPS port as opposed to the AUX.

Notice above, the PCC (primary carrier) RxM represents the signals received on the MAIN antenna connector on the modem. Notice its RSRP reading of -117.

Next, look at the PCC RxD which represents the signals received on the AUX (diversity) antenna connector on the modem. Notice its reading of -140.

The RxM and RxD should be close to one another. We can also see the disparity on the SCC (secondary carrier) RxM and RxD.

Thanks. I checked and the connections seem to be correct. I disconnected them and then reconnected. Still a connection but no internet. Here is what I get now when I run the command again:

Code: Select all

AT!GSTATUS?
!GSTATUS:
Current Time: 583 Temperature: 27
Reset Counter: 2 Mode: ONLINE
System mode: LTE PS state: Attached
LTE band: B41 LTE bw: 20 MHz
LTE Rx chan: 41094 LTE Tx chan: 41094
LTE CA state: INACTIVE LTE Scell band:B41
LTE Scell bw:20 MHz LTE Scell chan:41292
EMM state: Registered Normal Service
RRC state: RRC Connected
IMS reg state: No Srv

PCC RxM RSSI: -81 RSRP (dBm): -108
PCC RxD RSSI: -95 RSRP (dBm): -140
SCC RxM RSSI: -98 RSRP (dBm): -120
SCC RxD RSSI: -104 RSRP (dBm): -140
Tx Power: 0 TAC: 1001 (4097)
RSRQ (dB): -7.6 Cell ID: 02147333 (34894643)
SINR (dB): 9.8

OK

Thanks much!

You have something going on with the AUX connector port on the modem.

Try swapping sides with the 4G/LTE Antennas, and run the command once again.

Also, check the pigtail cable to make sure it did not get cut while reassembling the router cases. They are bad about getting caught between the case and LED's.
