I have the WE826 router with GoldenOrb firmware on it. The wifi is currently is default at rooter and the password is the default rooter 2017. It's there a way to change the wifi password?
Thanks

Re: Change wifi password on WE826
Log into the router, go to NETWORK > WIRELESS > EDIT (corresponding to the wifi radio).
In the second window titled, INTERFACE CONFIGURATION change the ESSID to whatever name you want the WiFi to broadcast, then click on WIRELESS SECURITY > KEY and enter your new password.
Then, SAVE & APPLY

Re: Change wifi password on WE826
I also have GoldenOrb firmware, the 11/18 version and I'm trying to find or change the password of the wifi so my wife can login with her Ipad. She tried the password rooter 2017 and it didn't work. I went to NETWORK > WIRELESS, but the wifi radio only gave the options RESTART, SCAN and ADD. I don't think the wifi is enabled. I skimmed through the build Tutorial but couldn't find anywhere how to enable wifi.

Re: Change wifi password on WE826
Should I refresh my WE826T-2 router? I tried changing wifi passwords but since there was no 'edit' button to select next to radio, I couldn't go any further. It appeared that 'radio' had not been enabled and there was no option to enable it so I assumed the wifi wasn't working. Later, when trying to access wi-fi it gave me a password of 'A string' to use. The password worked on my one laptop but didn't work on the other for some reason. Then it wouldn't work on either. This morning I used the ethernet cable to access the web but got kicked offline after a half hour. My cellular signal strength has been decent so I don't think that was the problem.
I was tired when I flashed the router with the GoldenOrb 11/2018 edition and it was the ROOter version, not the OpenWrt version, so since the tutorial images didn't match what I was seeing on my computer I probably missed something.
Have the bugs been patched in the 3/2019 GoldenOrb version?

Pick whatever firmware you intend on using. They are all based on OpenWRT with added packages.effinpissed wrote: Tue Aug 27, 2019 10:47 am I think I'll also have to refresh my WE826T-2 router. Place the firmware on your desktop. Login to the router, go to:
SYSTEM > BACKUP / FLASH FIRMWARE > FLASH NEW FIRMWARE > BROWSE to the firmware image on your desktop.
Be CERTAIN to UNCHECK box to Keep Settings. Then, Flash Image.
USE an Ethernet cable ONLY to flash firmware (i.e., no WiFi)
The information and tutorials on this site are provided strictly as a courtesy--to help people get connected.I read a thread concerning changing wifi passwords but since there was no 'edit' button to select next to radio, I couldn't go any further. It appeared that 'radio' had not been enabled and there was no option to enable it. It sure would be nice if there was a user manual available to study instead of trying to guess what to do.
There is no monopoly on creating and posting Tutorials. A tutorial can submitted by anyone who has something of value to add that will assist others.
You can head over the ROOTer website for Documentation to include the WiFi.
You can also submit issues on the ROOTer forum.

Re: Change wifi password on WE826
Thank you for the ROOTer links. I do appreciate the help this forum provides and I know you're doing your best to get people connected. I was born way before PCs were in existence. I get a little bent out of shape because there were no computer courses when I was in high school so I usually end up learning by making mistakes. It's hard to teach an old dog new tricks. Best regards.

Re: Change wifi password on WE826
Hi, I have tried changing my password several times by following the directions given. Every time I go and change the password and hit save & apply, my internet drops and does not save the new password but keeps reverting back to the old. I then reconnect to the internet using the old password. Please let me know what I need to do. Thank you for your help!

If I had to guess, that is because you are using WiFi to change it? If so, you will need to connect a LAN to a PC and change it that away.clarkfitness wrote: Wed Sep 11, 2019 3:50 pm Hi, I have tried changing my password several times by following the directions given.
