Thought I'd point this out here as it could be useful for some.
Over the past week I lost CA and to make sure it was a tower issue I reset the modem etc.
My Em7511 reverted to Verizon and I was not expecting it to connect, however it did! To T-mobile under a roaming profile. This was very strange as its a Sprint Sim and unless in generic you cant connect to the sprint network.
I've not got any hotspots around to test, but that may mean if you are in a tmobile area, using tmobile brands you can now use a tmobile firmware on the modem or maybe even just an unlocked device.
