Antenna recommendations

Post by Stevekuyper »

Been testing ZBT-WE826 (16M) for about 3 weeks now and been lurking on the forum and reading almost every thread . great info and been leaning lots.

Would like to use outdoor antennas for better results. I live in the country about 4 miles from towers NLOS, wooded lot , the results i'm seeing below are router setting in window .
Using Paddle Antennas on router only

Most of the time the router is just on B2 but will some times switch to B2 and B12.

Thoughts ?

I'd recommend buying some external antennas, and giving it a shot by testing outside before permanently mounting. It looks like you could benefit from some based on your signal stats.

I'd recommend two of these: https://thewirelesshaven.com/shop/antennas/698-27 ... l-antenna/

Thank you for the recommendation So I would be better going with Directional Antenna's then with a outside Omni antenna .

As long as you have the time and willingness to determine which direction the tower is in relationship to your house, I would say yes to directional antennas.

You also need two antennas regardless if they are directional or omni, to support mimo (which you want, cause it will nearly double your download rates)

The DB-8e is the best antenna available but the regular DB-8 is not far behind. You will also need a preamp.
