WG1608 power savings, remove wifi chips?

Post by scottc5 »

I just put a wg1608 in an enclosed box and started wondering about ways to reduce power/heat. Has anyone tried removing the wifi modules or disconnecting power to them? Will the firmware get mad if they disappear? I have wifi disabled in rooter, but I'd imagine that the wifi chips are still drawing some power and creating some heat?
