Mofi4500 Bad Address using Diagnostics

I recently got a Mofi 4500 and though my speeds are decent, they are not great for my signal strength -67db to -72db. I tried to use the diagnostics through the interface but I get bad address any time I try AT!GSTATUS? or !GSTATUS?, !GSTATUS? etc. I used putty and could connect no problem but I can not run the command there either. Am I missing something? I am no expert by any means but I can follow directions and google more if I have a better direction. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The attached pictures are with my actual ATT sim in, I also use a StraighTalk sim for AT&T and all my signal strength and everything is the same, my latency just jumps to 150-350ms so I have been using my cell phone one.
