Hello! I am new to the forums here, and to the LTE routers. I have a mofi4500 sim 4, which I understand is not the best thing to have, however I am starting out and trying to get a better understanding before I go extreme!
I had an att iPad plan that got the axe, so I switched to a T-Mobile prepaid unlimited talk/text/data plan. I get great speeds for my area 60mbs up 20mbs down.
The issue I’m having is the plan has a deprioritization after 50gb of data isn’t used. Before I cross the 50gb data usage my mofi stays connected 100% of the time, I never lose connection. After I cross the 50gb data, it seems about every 2 hours I lose connection and have to wait for the reconnection script to reconnect.
My question is, is there anyway to beat this 2 hour disconnect issue? It seems to be based on usage, and nothing I have tried has helped. Any advice anyone could offer would be great!
Thank you!

Re: Please help with T mobile
I have tried TTL of 64 and 65..neither one has made a difference. When I lose connection, the led indicator stays on saying there is connection..but somehow my link still loses signal.

Re: Please help with T mobile
Is 4G modem losing connection or is it the Wi-Fi on the MoFI??
I would simplify your set up turn off the Wi-Fi on the MoFI Connect to the MoFI With an ethernet cable

Re: Please help with T mobile
The power supply for the MoFI are little on the weak side. They have been known to cause crazy problems. I would replace with a higher wattage better quality power supply.
Re: Please help with T mobile
Thank you for your replies and trying to help me. I have the mofi wifi turned off and am connected to a separate router for wifi. I have already upgraded my power supply to the one recommended by the store here. none of that seemed to make a difference.
It almost seems as if tmobile is killing my connection once I cross the 50GB limit before deprioritization. Its weird that as long as im below 50GB data used, I dont lose connection at all. Once I go above 50GB data, its regular disconnects, which doesnt take me long to get past 50GB with 2 teenage kids.

Re: Please help with T mobile
Plan-B
Get a new SIM/Data plan maybe two, one for each kid
Not sure if you can bring your own device.
I am still reading
SIM Solution, 100GB, 5G, T-Mobile, $50
See
https://www.t-mobile.com/news/network/5 ... got-better
The MoFI SIM-4 has CA, but no band lock.
The MoFI SIM-7 has band lock, but no CA
I am thinking when deprioritization happens T-Mobile is switching bands on you. And the MoFi is getting lost.
Start doing screenshots to test this theory
And take good notes.
The MoFI is a nice starter unit but you may need to up your hardware game.
Note sure if Band 71 is in your area.
It was my only hope for a signal.
If band 71, 600Mhz is needed it limits your choices for modems and antennas
The boys at the LTE store can help!

Re: Please help with T mobile
I went this morning and switched from prepaid to a postpaid account. Will see if that makes any difference. I am band locked, but nothing seems to stop the disconnects once I was over 50gb of data. Thinking maybe if im on post paid, I wont get depri'd as quick..we will see once I cross 50gb and ill post here with an update when I get there.
