You could also tether from your tablet but you still need to change TTL on the router otherwise after 15GB of hotspot use it goes down to 600Kbps. If you are able to change the TTL then it's unlimited non-throttled use unless the tower is congested during peak times.

Yeah buy the cheapest LTE ipad/tablet you can find that works for Verizon then just add a tablet line if you are on Verizon postpaid. As for your Netgear wireless router, you probably need to flash to custom OpenWRT or DD-WRT in order to modify the TTL to bypass hotspot detection if you want to save ...

I see the WE826 is about half the price of the WG3526, what is the difference?
Noticeable details:
WE826 - 100Mbps port speed - WiFi is just ok.

Not necessarily. It has to do with how many devices you're behind. You just need to increase it to 66 or make custom firewall rules to do so if there isn't an option like GoldenOrb. I set mine to 67 before I could get my end user pc to ping router to get a TTL reply of 65. A TTL reply of 65 is known ...

I can answer about TTL. On the OMR's firewall page, there is a custom rules tab that you could enter the TTL settings like you normally would. You just need to reference to the correct interface from each WAN connection.

Ignore the message. It's fine because you are manually setting the IP for your router instead of having OMR dishing out. You could also set TTL in the firewall's custom rules just like you would before in other LTE routers with OpenWRT. You just need to reference the correct interface for each rule.

The 600Kbps is usually a sign that your data is being detected as hotspot data. If you put your Verizon's sim back into the phone and it doesn't throttle to 600Kbps then you know it is caused by hotspot detection.

Re: New to forum. Currently using a mofi4500
Hm. That's the correct interface that goes with your settings. Not sure why the router is not applying them properly. Do you have TTL enabled? Try to uncheck it but make sure those 4 lines are in custom rules then apply and reboot.

It should be just a word right under WAN1 and the plug icon.

Yeah. Maybe your network interface wwan0 is incorrect. Go to Network -> Interfaces and see what does it say in the WAN1 plug box?BigMac79 wrote: Mon Sep 07, 2020 10:51 pm By "uncomment" you mean remove the '#' before it? If so, I did that, rebooted and still get a TTL64 when I ping it.

Paste your settings here. Are you tethering with a hotspot/phone or using a modem inside the router?BigMac79 wrote: Mon Sep 07, 2020 10:12 pm I tried changing the TTL and Custom Rules to 65, 66 and 67 and the ping comes back 64 every time. I rebooted after each change also. Any thoughts?

Then the settings aren't being applied. Try to restart the router.BigMac79 wrote: Mon Sep 07, 2020 9:37 pm Figured out how to Ping from my MAC. Came back 64. Not sure why since I’ve changed TTL to 117 and router shows 117 for ipv4 and ipv6.

Re: New to forum. Currently using a mofi4500
So even with TTL set to 117 and the DNS settings (using cloudfare) I’m still “bleeding” through a bit of Hotspot data vs 100% device data. Is this normal or do I need to change something else?
Hotspot data showing about 1GB of increase every couple days vs. device data of about 3GB. I’m throttled ...

Interesting thought, can't wait to see what they say on the phone tomorrow lol...Any tips on getting a postpaid tablet sim if I don't have a tablet to use it in? I assuming like most of Verizon they want the IMEI up front before I can even view plan options. How much did the tablet plan cost you ...

Re: Issues Moving from Verizon Pre to Post Paid
Thanks Yipzy, I didn't have a whole lot of time to troubleshoot today and haven't checked the firmware just yet. But I think I'm closer to figuring out the issue.
What I'm seeing here is the postpaid phone sim will not work with the 7455 modem or sierra modems because they are getting flagged ...

What about x.ispsn and n.ispsn? Maybe T-Mobile is working on the tower due to merger and it's a temporary issue only. Perhaps this warrants a call to find out.

Anybody have any ideas?
I suspect your Cradlepoint is using the Sprint firmware of the modem. Therefore you are having issues as the IMEI on the EM7565 is not provisioned for you to just swap from Calyx's hotspot. You must use the generic version of the firmware to get it to registered but the ...

Try to factory reset the router then flash again. If still unable to, try if AT commands work?
