Re: T99W175 - enable AT/COM port
Big thanks for sharing this Information! Did you build from source at Linux next? How exactly did you modify the Driver? Me still running on an older Kernel this is the only source i found so far https://github.com/ylintan/mhi_driver_5.15.6 My Guess: Original : ; static const struct pci_device_id ...

Re: Budget oriented 4g router setup?
Yeah my power draw is larger than I'd like, though I am running on a 15w CPU while there are 6w available... I'm stationary and don't worry all that much about the power draw, except during a power outage since I have a small battery backup behind it. This is an old USFF system running a 6th gen i3 ...

Re: wg1608 + Foxconn T99W175
I will report back on my findings with compatibility. Any luck? The modem arrived DOA (or I killed it). It is unresponsive. I'll bet you it's the protocol. These only support PCIE/MHI wich the WG1608 doesn't do and is actually a little bit difficult to find an adapter to support converting the B ...

Re: Budget oriented 4g router setup?
There are a lot of options out there. I started with a WG1608 and hated it and moved on to an x86 router built from an $80 HP 260 G2 and a $40 DW5821e, which is a Quectel. With cabling and antenna I'm at double your entry, but that's the cost of cabling+antenna if you need runs that are lengthy. The ...

GPS Location questions
I've got a router configured with ModemManager and NMEA and 3gpp location enabled/reporting in MM. When I do location checks from clients behind the router, they do not report they are in the location shown by the ModemManager GPS output. How can correct this?

Re: X55 T99W175 modem
I built into a SFF PC, but I can't get the modem to detect. It may be because of the mPCIE/M2 adapters I used but I don't know how to tell and I don't want to keep buying them to no avail. Frustrating.

Re: DW5821e - Using QMI Mode [Solved]
Edit: I figured out how to add this script in rooter. It doesn't seem like my dw5821e likes qmi mode, couldn't keep a steady connection, kept rebooting. Hey matrx sorry it's taken me a while to get back to you. This changes the protocol the router uses to communicate with the modem. I see slightly ...

T77W968 / DW5821e - Why aren't my bands locking?
I have configured preferred bands and band locking on my modem, but it doesn't respect those configurations and keeps connecting on other bands instead. What can I do? AT^SLBAND? WCDMA,Enable Bands :1,2,4,5,6,8,9,19, LTE,Enable Bands :66, OK AT^BAND_PRI? ^BAND_PRI:66 OK AT^ABAND? Radio interface ...

Re: X55 T99W175 modem
I have a WG1608 with a T77W968 in use currently. I'm using rooter instead of OpenWRT so I don't have modem manager.
Been considering a sff pc, a BPI-R2 Pro/R3, and other little odds and ends. The WG1608 keeps hitting CPU max so I'm sort of anxious to get off it.

I'm looking to upgrade my 4g modem to 5g. Given the lack of USB support and the effort to make functional, should I look at another device instead?

Those little things look like fun, almost bought one a few weeks ago to fool with. Re: ZBT WG1602 and ROOTER (open WRT) ?
I have been using a WG1608 for a few weeks now and am really underwhelmed by the router. I'd have rather bought something without a m.2 and used a USB enclosure for the modem. Dual core, 16 or 32 megs rom, 128 or 256 megs ram, at best ac1200 - it's a low-end 8+ year old router with only one ...

Re: wg1608 + Foxconn T99W175
The .16 says it's for Canada only per the documentation. Very interested what you are able to successfully connect to if you are US-based. I'd really like to be able to migrate to 5g and those modems have a nice price. /edit: what that documentation means vs reality of that hardware I'm not sure but ...

DW5821e - Using QMI Mode [Solved]
I'm running GoldenOrb_2022-06-24 ( OpenWrt 21.02-SNAPSHOT ) on a WG1608 with a DW5821e modem. I'm reading that there are potential latency improvements when using QMI mode instead of MBIM and I'm really struggling to get QMI going. It seems like ModemManager may be a surefire way to get this running ...
