I'm also curious..
I'm trying again, this time with an m.2 to RJ45 adapter. It's ridiculously fast and stable, yet I can't seem to consistently recreate the magic that got the video throttling to stop.
@vigilant, any chance you could share your settings?

BananaPi BPI-R3, now with ROOTer support!
Hello,
I just wanted to spread the word on this little beast of a DIY router. It has a quad core MT7986 A53 chip @2ghz with Wifi6 AX, 2.5gbit ethernet, m.2/mpcie slots, 2gb of ram, and an on-board SIM slot. To say I've been grinning like a kid at christmas with this thing is an understatement. It's ...

Re: Quectel Rm510Q-AE Programming Bands
For the RM series, you have to specify LTE bands specifically.
AT+QNWPREFCFG="lte_band",1:2:5:41:69:420
For 5g SA, it's
AT+QNWPREFCFG="nr5g_band",1:2:5:41:69:420
You separate the specific band numbers with colons, only the command and band number list are separated by a comma.

Re: RM502Q-AE question
Could be two things. One, when idle it seems to "let go" of the extra streams, some form of power saving. If I start a download in the background, all 4 light up as they should.
Second, if you're only connected to a low band signal, it only uses 2 antennas. However, normally these show up as -65534 ...

I emailed them after I read your comment the other day and they have yet to respond to it. I'm not sure if they provide that information as I can't find it anywhere.
Sorry I'm late to the party, but I've found this site to be an invaluable resource, and they happen to have the 8200ea on there ...

Re: SOLVED: I'm stuck. Mobile Citizen T-Mobile SIM video throttling on RM502Q-AE, but not on hotspot
Well, yes and no. While the device limit is 15 for the hotspot itself, that's not a limitation on the plan. The T9/T10 allows for USB tethering out of the box, which effectively would allow the T9/T10 to have as many connections as you want anyways... Officially.

Heat and latency/throughput PSA
This is applicable to most of the Quectel line, including the RM502Q, RM500Q, EM160, EM12-G.

I wouldn't think that's throttling, that seems like bad peering or a bad hop along the route to me.
Try running a test with Wehe and see if it shows any discrepancies

I've done some locking. I was having speed issues on my local tower yesterday so I locked to another side.. unfortunately it didn't seem to help, but I've got the process down.

Re: Wish me luck...
According to the T-Mobile map, the nearest n41 tower is 8 and a half miles to the northeast (random UC tower on its own by a truck stop, it stands out on the map), which isn't exactly ideal.. but certainly not the worst. The hill doesn't drop as quickly in that direction, it rides the ridge for ...

Re: I'm stuck. Mobile Citizen T-Mobile SIM video throttling on RM502Q-AE, but not on hotspot
This is what worked for me. To stop video throttle.
1) Make sure you have no ttl set in connection profile or in firewall.
2) In Default profile set protocol to ipv6 only
3) spoof identity to match original
4) reboot router
Good news is this removed the throttle.. bad news is a chunk of sites ...

Magic? Indeed, first thing I do when I put the new card in. I've also tried both the commercial-tmo, row-commercial mbns.

Thanks for the info. I tried it and.... I can no longer get 5g to connect, lol. To be fair, my sim came locked to a t9 so I was surprised 5g worked anyways.. I didn't really experiment too much because it's rare to have enough time where taking the internet down doesn't get me a stream of angry ...

May try disabling IPV6 and use IPV4 only.
If you are using WiFiX/ROOter/GoldenOrb firmware, go to MODEM>CONNECTION PROFILE DEFAULT PROFILE > PROTOCOL TYPE > IPV4
SAVE & APPLY, and reboot the router.
This initially helped a month or two ago with the old Sprint sim, but the new one doesn't seem ...

Hey, thanks for the heads up on the snr reading discrepancies. I will adjust accordingly.
As for the reading playing tricks, unfortunately there is no aggregation. It's just a single 10mhz n71 channel with a terrible signal.. what did you do to hard reset it?

Hello,
I have tried everything I can think of. The new T-Mobile SIM with an RM502Q-AE is hard throttled to 2.5mbps. This is on pretty much every video stream, including but not limited to Youtube, Netflix, Prime, a remote Emby server, etc. This *only* applies on the RM502Q-AE. The T9 does not ...
