This worked for an EM160R-GL on Visible. Only change:
Instead of
- Set to 4g LTE only Command = AT+QCFG="nwscanmode",3,1
Use
- Set to 4g LTE only Command = AT+QNWPREFCFG="mode_pref",LTE

Re: WG1608D / EM160R-GL / AT&T Difficulty
Some updates (and little/no progress):
I stopped by the AT&T store. They couldn't help at all and simply said "everything is setup exactly how it should be. It probably doesn't work because the AT&T hotspot SIM will only ever work with one of the AT&T hotspot devices that we sell here."

Re: WG1608D / EM160R-GL / AT&T Difficulty
I’ll have to stop by an att store; when calling in they want to call or text the number associated to the sim to verify who I am, but that obviously isn’t working.
Unfortunately the folks in the store don’t seem to be the most astute...
Thanks again!!

Re: WG1608D / EM160R-GL / AT&T Difficulty
The em160 IMEI is all they asked for. I didn’t double check that they entered it correctly, so that has been on my mind as well.

Re: WG1608D / EM160R-GL / AT&T Difficulty
Just tried both “broadband” and “BROADBAND” with the same results as before; nothing listed under the modem in modem>network status and registration failed lines in the system logs.

Re: WG1608D / EM160R-GL / AT&T Difficulty
After setting LTE it appears it won't connect at all; signal information remains blank and I get the following repeating in the logs:

Here is where I define the apn. I have also tried within network>interfaces with the same lack of results.

Re: WG1608D / EM160R-GL / AT&T Difficulty
Thank you for the responses!
This is in an RV that will be moving fairly regularly so I wasn’t too terribly concerned with the the signal strength as within a few weeks I’ll be in a completely different area. That said I certainly don’t want to be stuck on 3G!

WG1608D / EM160R-GL / AT&T Difficulty
All,
I'm slamming my head against a proverbial brick wall and hoping someone can provide some assistance.
I have a 1608 running GoldenOrb_2021-03-25, a Quectel EM160R-GL, and a new AT&T post-paid hotspot account ($55/100GB).
