Re: WG1608 (16M) and RM520N-GL Performance (T-Mobile)
In performing a lot of research I've found that something with the way ROOter manages the modem connections or possibly OpenWrt is limiting speeds to ~250Mbps. I've moved on to the InvisaGig which is a fantastic device. You can learn more here: https://invisagig.com/

Re: WG1608 (16M) and RM520N-GL Performance (T-Mobile)
Just a quick follow up. Others in the ROOter Whirlpool forums are reporting the same issue but we haven't gotten any traction from the development team yet. I even tested a new ROOter OpenWRT 22 build but the issue still exists. Hard to believe no one in this forum has encountered this issue or ...

WG1608 (16M) and RM520N-GL Performance (T-Mobile)
I have a WG1608 (16M) with RM520N-GL and am seeing far less than expected cellular performance.
I live about 1.5 miles from a T-Mobile UC tower. My SIM in a MR6150 I see ~800Mbps download/20Mbps upload. The same SIM in the WG1608 the most I see is 250Mbps download/30Mbps upload, router load is ~1.1 ...

Re: WG1608 fan header specs?
I have a wg1608 on order and I am wondering the same. My hope is that I can use a RPi 5v fan that also operates at 3v (at a reduced speed) and connect that to GND and 3v3. Will reply back with what I find.

Re: LBR20 and ATT Tablet Plan Issue
I got my hands back on the Orbi last night. The MBN changes did not resolve the issue. Reset to factory defaults and everything is working now. I plan to let it run for a few days before I call it fixed!

Re: LBR20 and ATT Tablet Plan Issue
Which MBN is in use? If you haven’t already I would try the Generic one if it’s using the ATT one currently.
I'm not sure TBH, I only issued the following commands.
echo -ne "AT+QMBNCFG=\"AutoSel\",0\r\n" | microcom -X -t 1000 /dev/ttyUSB2
echo -ne "AT+QMBNCFG=\"Deactivate\"\r\n ...

Re: Orbi LBR20 How-To / Megathread
I am having a very similar issue, but with the ATT tablet plan. I posted in this thread originally, but found a specific Orbi troubleshooting section and moved my post there. You may want to do the same.

Re: LBR20 and ATT Tablet Plan Issue
Many others are running ATT tablet plan in the LBR20 without issue to my knowledge. How much data do you use per billing period on average? Does your LBR20 IMEI match that of the tablet your plan is registered to?

Re: Orbi LBR20 How-To / Megathread
After reboot if I change the APN to fbb.home or wholesale (fast.t-mobile.com never works) depending completely on what was used prior to reboot, it connects instantly.
Essentially if I flip flop between the two APNs on reboot it will reconnect to Internet. But nothing else works to get it up ...

LBR20 and ATT Tablet Plan Issue
Has anyone running Voxel had any issues with the ATT tablet plan since the 3G shutdown? My LBR20 shows good ATT signal and connects momentarily after reboot, but then disconnects.
I have tried setting the connection to 4G only, but that did not make a difference.
APN is set to broadband and I ...

Re: Orbi LBR20 How-To / Megathread
I just installed Voxel and it is working great except for dnscrypt, which only works over wifi after the LBR is fully booted and I restart the dnscrypt service. It seems dnscrypt may be starting too early in the boot process (before all of the interfaces are up).

Re: Orbi LBR20 How-To / Megathread
Any idea how to band lock this router to 2 and 71? I can't find the commands
You will need to use the band calculator to determine the hex for locking the bands.

Example Command
echo -ne "AT+QCFG=\"band\",0,42000001003300385a\r\n ...

Re: Orbi LBR20 How-To / Megathread
That works :)
Sounds good, I will be upgrading my stable unit to the newer firmware this weekend to use 'circle_jerk' as Voxel appears to have now accepted my offer to ship my 'dev' unit to him so that he can release his firmware for the LBR20. Hopefully one day soon this will mean we no longer ...

Re: Orbi LBR20 How-To / Megathread
How is everyone using custom DNS when Circle is enabled?
With Circle enabled the custom/static DNS option cannot be selected in the UI? With Circle disabled I can set custom DNS, but then it reverts back to dynamic when I re-enable Circle.

Re: Orbi LBR20 How-To / Megathread
Hey quick question. How do i check if i am getting CA and can you band lock on this router?
Confirm Carrier Aggregation Combos (I've noticed it only activates CA after initial speed test)

You can band lock, I used this thread to ...

Re: Orbi LBR20 How-To / Megathread
I run the NextDNS CLI daemon on my upstream PFSense firewall which has a WAN rule that allows incoming traffic from the Orbi (WAN) to the LAN IP of the PFSense which the CLI listens on (port 53). On the Orbi I am just overwriting '/etc/resolv.conf' with "nameserver [PFSense_IP]" so that it uses ...

Re: Orbi LBR20 How-To / Megathread
I do not see that TFTP was executed to upload the .zip because it should produce some output that says “[x] bytes were transferred in [x] seconds” or something similar. Check that ‘/var/tftpd-hpa/circle_jerk.zip‘ exists and shows proper file size or if it is zero. If zero in size this confirms ...

Re: Orbi LBR20 How-To / Megathread
Could have to do with your network adapter configuration and not being able to pull the correct IP or MAC automatically. Try populating the function’s IP and MAC variables manually to see if that helps.
That was it. I disabled all other network adapters on my Windows 10 PC and the script shows ...
