Hello all,
Looking for a recommendation for an mPCIe form factor 5G modem to replace the MC7411's that we currently use. We have some sites that we'd like to stream live video from, and we need about 20-30 Mbps.
We use these on both Verizon and AT&T.
I've looked at the Sierra lineup, but it ...

VzW Changing Bands - Kicking device offline
I have a number of EM7411s embedded in IoT devices. When we initially commissioned them, with generic firmware, they were getting pretty miserable speeds because they were locking onto distant cell sites, or bands/sectors that weren't even aimed in our direction.
After a lot of searching we ...

Re: EM7411 "disabled" after install
Solved my own problem after much research..
The new modem has to be enabled like this:
sudo mmcli -m 0 -e
In this case my modem is 0, from 'mmcli -L'
mmcli is the commandline version of ModemManager since we're using Ubuntu Server.

EM7411 "disabled" after install
I recently replaced an EM7455 with an EM7411 that I purchased here. I swapped the SIM, which is activated with Verizon, into the new 7411. Once it was installed and we tried to use it it's showing "disabled" for its status:

EM7455 - Limited Engineering Sample? Bad FW?
** Update **
So we took one of the devices with consistently (seems capped) upload speeds of 400kbps to a site with a working device. Connecting it to the same antenna that was giving 20M/20M to another device, the "bad" device is getting 400kbps.
So after a lot of comparison between the 2 we ...

Re: B13 Version of MikroTik LXT
If you are comfortable with Mikrotik CLI, you CAN install an EC25-AF (which does support B13) in Mikrotik LTE products. But, I wouldn't recommend tackling this option for Mikrotik beginners. Installing the hardware is the easy part, it's the getting the Mikrotik device to properly identify and ...

Re: B13 Version of MikroTik LXT
No, that's just their spec page. The suggested price is on there, $129. Amazon has them, but I need something like this for Band 13.

B13 Version of MikroTik LXT
I recently found this device from MikroTik, https://mikrotik.com/product/sxt_lte_kit_us and was ecstatic. It ticked all the boxes for what we need - a PoE powered modem, high gain directional antenna, small form factor, and a great price. And, as usual, I ordered one without reading the fine print ...

Re: EM7455 Disconnects, Verizon, Troubleshooting Steps?
Yes, I agree, I'm pretty confident that it isn't a hardware issue but its not a guarantee. I'd still rather be able to put my finger on exactly what the issue is. That's the engineer in me! And, I'm not an expert on these either, but if it's something like it's switching to something else for some ...

EM7455 Disconnects, Verizon, Troubleshooting Steps?
I've been having an issue with an EM7455 installed in a rugged computer/IoT device. For the last 6 weeks or so it's been up and connected to the Verizon (static IP) network in our office without so much as a single disconnect. We had it on 1-minute monitoring and it never dropped off even once.
We ...

Re: Poor upload - Several EM7455s/Ubuntu
Well, after a great, great deal of testing and experimentation, we have found the cause: Ubuntu 18.04.
We put one of the SIMs in a brand new Sierra Wireless LX40 and it was 20Mbps down/20Mbps up. Back in the Ubuntu device it was 20Mbps down, 3Mbps up. We tried different modems, different devices ...

Re: Poor upload - Several EM7455s/Ubuntu
U tried changing ttl settings?
I know what TTL is, but I don't think that applies in this case. I've looked around here and that seems to be something related to using the device as a hotspot/router on a mobile phone plan? We're not doing that - these are legitimately activated SIM cards with ...

Re: Poor upload - Several EM7455s/Ubuntu
Since you are experiencing the same thing over several identical setups I would guess the problem is with Visible. Verizon is no friend to sim cards used in anything but approved phones and hotspots.
Sorry, Visible is my mobile provider. The cards are on an "unlimited government" plan with ...

Looking for some help from the experts here with an issue that neither we nor the vendor can diagnose.
